In this artistic interpretation, Pochita’s appearance has changed significantly. Although transformed into a human girl, some features still resemble his dog form. With big eyes and a chibi-like physique, Pochita maintains his charm. Denji, on the other hand, remains unchanged.
While some fans may wish that Chainsaw Man had taken this path in the actual storyline, there are reasons why Pochita is a dog in the manga. Pochita’s presence as a dog offers Denji the unique companionship he needs. Moreover, it emphasizes the challenges Denji faces when connecting with humans. The manga focuses on his personal growth, and having a humanoid sister would distract from that development. Nonetheless, it’s impossible to ignore the appeal of this alternate version.
For those unfamiliar with Chainsaw Man, the series follows Denji, a young man burdened with debt, as he hunts down devils with Pochita, his faithful devil-dog companion. Denji’s life takes a dramatic turn when he is betrayed by someone he trusts, leading to a transformation that grants him extraordinary powers. He becomes Chainsaw Man, embarking on a new journey.
