Lets take a look back at episode 12 where Team Rocket, after 20 years, defeated Ash in a battle. We saw clearly Mimikyu’s hatred to Pikachu which drove Mimikyu to keep battling even though the battle was pretty much over. What drove Mimikyu to really hate Pikachu? I’m here to answer that question.

In Episode 12 of the Pokemon Sun and Moon Anime Series, Mimikyu completely decimates Pikachu with the help of Team Rocket’s other Pokemon. Heck, Mimikyu would have probably killed Pikachu if Bewear wasn’t there to save the day… again. Why does Mimikyu hate Pikachu so much and how come it’s one of the only pokemon in Team Rocket’s lineup that can defeat Pikachu.

Most people will say that Mimikyu has a hatred for Pikachu due to Pikachu having more attention than the lonely Ghost-Type Pokemon. This is the most probable reason for Mimikyu to hate Pikachu. Let’s take a look at the English Subbed verision of Mimikyu’s song. If you haven’t listened to the song before, I would recommend listening to it before getting any further in this video. In the song it states, “I wanted to be on good terms with everyone…/that’s why I’m imitating Pikachu” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vO_dO3mMboQ). That leads me to my next point.

It’s very likely that Mimikyu had a previous trainer before Jessie from Team Rocket. This is why Mimikyu show’s so much power when battling and has ease on beating Pikachu in a battle. Once again in the song it states, “Can we be friends?” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vO_dO3mMboQ). If Mimikyu did indeed have a previous trainer, would it have gotten replaced. Realistically in the Pokemon World, people would want a Pikachu right? If someone picked up Mimikyu and than after training it for awhile realizing it wasnt a Pikachu, would they immediately relaease it. This mostly depends on the type of trainer but this is a possibility on why Mimikyu is acting like this in the anime. Maybe that explaines why Mimikyu in the game’s are super friendly judging by the song, but Mimikyu in the anime has literally killed Meowth.

Mimikyu has so much potential for the Pokemon Anime and I cant wait to see where the writers are gonna take Mimikyu’s undeniable hatred to Pikachu. Hopefully we will finally get a confirmation on why Mimikyu want’s to possibly kill Pikachu. Everytime time Pikachu and Mimikyu face off, it’s always Mimikyu who come’s out on top, unless Bewear shows up on time that is.
