Why Did Chris And Logan Break Up on The Amazing Race?

Are you ready for some thrilling adventures? Since its first season in September 2001, The Amazing Race has provided us with countless shocking moments. This CBS game show puts teams of two to the test as they race around the world, completing various tasks and mental challenges in a bid to win $1 million. Hosted by the charismatic Phil Keoghan, the reality series has garnered 13 Primetime Emmy Awards, 10 of which were for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program.

In preparation for the season 32 premiere in October 2020, Phil Keoghan, a New Zealand native, proudly announced that he had officially traveled one million miles throughout the series. However, he humbly dismissed any grand celebration, likening the feat to “going to the moon and back, twice.”

The producer of The Amazing Race, who was excited about the “really good mixture of teams” competing on season 32, acknowledged the strong bond formed among the contestants. Just like in any family, the teams grew very close to one another. He assured us that the dynamics among the teams right from the beginning were fascinating to watch.

While the closeness of the teams was heartening to see, it did raise some concerns among viewers. James Wallington and Will Jardell, the season 32 winners and the first LGBTQ+ couple to get engaged on the show, faced backlash for their strong alliance with other pairs. However, Will clarified that it wasn’t something they were fully committed to or considered a long-term situation. It was merely a strategy to recognize the importance of social strategy in the competition. James added that the alliance had only been intended to be short-term, a means to find like-minded teams in their approach to the game.

Interestingly, James and Will were not the only contestants who faced criticism for assisting other teams. When influencer Tyler Oakley appeared on season 28, he also received flak for providing hands-on help to his competitors. Nonetheless, the show’s co-executive producer, Elise Doganieri, clarified that there were no rules preventing participants from helping one another at a Roadblock. As long as a non-participant did not assist their own partner, participants were free to offer as much or as little help as they wanted.

As we eagerly await the next season of The Amazing Race, let’s take a moment to revisit some of the most controversial moments from the show’s 30-plus seasons. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions that keeps us hooked year after year.
