Angel Tree Registration 2023: Make a Difference this Holiday Season

The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program Accepting Applications

The holiday season is a time for joy, celebration, and the spirit of giving. Unfortunately, for many individuals and families, it can be a time of loneliness and struggle. That’s where The Salvation Army comes in. The organization is now accepting applications for their cherished Angel Tree tradition and other holiday assistance programs.

Apply for Angel Tree Assistance:

The Angel Tree program connects compassionate individuals and organizations with children who have created their wish lists. Last year, The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division’s Angel Tree Program distributed over 100,000 toys to children in need across 28 counties. It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring smiles to the faces of those who need it most.

To find your local Salvation Army location and obtain contact information, visit the Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division’s website at salvationarmywpa.org/holidays. If you don’t see your ZIP code listed, simply call (412) 446-1500 for a referral to your nearest Salvation Army.

For any specific questions or inquiries regarding the Angel Tree program, reach out to the Angel Tree Coordinator, Leah Cross, at (412) 446-1534 or via email at [email protected].

Bundle-Up with WTAE-TV’s Project:

In addition to the Angel Tree program, applications are also being accepted for WTAE-TV’s project, Bundle-Up. This initiative provides brand new, warm winter outerwear such as coats, hats, gloves, and boots to children and senior citizens over the age of 62 from low-income households in Western Pennsylvania. This joint program, implemented by The Salvation Army Western PA Division and WTAE Channel 4, ensures that everyone stays warm and comfortable during the colder months.

Food and More for Those in Need:

The Salvation Army goes above and beyond to ensure that individuals and families in need have access to warm meals during the holiday season. From hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to delivering meals and stocking food pantries, they are dedicated to filling the stomachs and hearts of our neighbors in need. In November and December, throughout Allegheny County, The Salvation Army prepares and distributes meals, turkeys, grocery store gift cards, and non-perishable food baskets.

Sheetz For the Kidz Initiative:

The Salvation Army is also proud to partner with Sheetz for the Kidz initiative. This collaboration involves Sheetz employees shopping, wrapping, and hosting parties for participating children and families. Thanks to this incredible partnership, families across the country have received over $2.4 million worth of new toys, clothes, and other essentials.

Making a Difference for Over 150 Years:

As a church and a social service organization, The Salvation Army has been making a global impact for over 150 years since its founding in London, England in 1865. Present in 132 countries worldwide, they provide critical services to those in need. The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division serves thousands of families in need through a wide range of support services.
