What process are you currently using to cut your composite panels ?
I have had to sit down and make some real challenges that go out to the market on cladding and roofing installers of composite materials. Why? Simply current process for cutting this material are limiting.
Currently the only options you have are with a Reciprocating Saw/Jigsaw or a Circular Saw until we launched the panel cutting saw.

Process 1 – Reciprocating Saw/ Sabre Saw/Jigsaw
The downside to using a reciprocating saw is that with Hand Arm Vibration laws allow you to use this product for 7 minutes before reaching EAV and 27 minutes before reaching ELV. How can a site that has thousands of meters to install effectively run production with only 27 minutes of cutting time per day maximum per person ? This process is also requires pilot hole drilling and you get multiple rework issues with blade flexibility. Once they have reached their ELV then even drilling or simply using a hammer will not be possible as they would have reached their allotted ELV points maximum.

This process also doesn’t allow for dust extraction possibilities which is an additional risk factor been added to the day’s production.
Process 2 – Circular Saw cutting.
The next best alternative is using a standard circular saw with a specialized metal cutting blade. Even when using a 355mm Circular saw you will only get 130mm depth of cut, the downside is the saw weighs 14.5kg. On the plus side it is very low in Vibration levels. The saw will not allow for plunge cutting into the material. Circular saws also don’t allow for making internal cut outs for doors and windows as the blade doesn’t cut a fully square corner. This then requires either finishing by hand cutting or back to process 1. The circular saw does allow for dust extraction which reduces risks.
Process 3- Panel Cutter TPC 165
The saw is capable of cutting 165mm depth of cut with a plunge cut. This allows for the removal of pilot hole drilling. The saw runs on a rail system that will allow the saw to travel over the multitude of panel variation’s in style, finishes & profiles major benefit is not allowing damaged to the delicate finish on the surface which can allow for rust setting in earlier than warranty period. This also allows for the saw to be used when the product has already been installed for retrospective additions of doors and windows. With 7h41 minutes of usage time before reaching ELV.

Material finish is of extremely high quality which again cuts time in the process as repairing poor cut quality edges can be just as time consuming as the original cut.
The saw also allows for dust extraction possibilities reducing risks and keeping the working area clean.
You make up your mind on what is the best process to install correctly but to also make a profit. Cutting installation time and lowering risks is of benefit to the entire delivery chain.
