Get ready for the 76th Emmy Awards!

Are you excited for the 76th Emmy Awards? Mark your calendars because the official airdate has been announced. On Sunday, September 15 at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT, ABC will broadcast the prestigious awards show. The Television Academy and ABC made the exciting revelation during the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena.

The Details

The Emmys will be aired live across the country on ABC, and the show will also be available for streaming on Hulu the next day. The event will take place at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles. Although the host and producers for the telecast have not been announced yet, anticipation is building up.

Save the Date

While the date for the Creative Arts Emmys hasn’t been confirmed yet, it is typically held on the weekend before the Primetime Emmys ceremony. Based on this, we can expect the Creative Arts Emmys to take place on September 7 and 8.

Nomination Announcement

The Television Academy has already revealed that the nominations for the 76th Emmy Awards will be unveiled on Wednesday, July 17. The eligibility period for this Emmy cycle spans from June 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024.

A Year of Excitement

The 76th Emmy Awards will mark the second Emmy ceremony in 2024. Due to the Hollywood strikes, the 75th Emmys were pushed from September 2023 to January 15, 2024. However, that ceremony was still considered the 2023 Emmys, while the upcoming ABC telecast in September will be recognized as the official 2024 Emmys. This event also marks a return to Sunday for the first time in two years.

ABC Takes the Stage

ABC, the current broadcast network to host the Emmys, will air the telecast for the first time since 2020. In the midst of the pandemic, Jimmy Kimmel hosted a virtual ceremony from the Staples Center that year, with winners and presenters joining in remotely from their homes. Previously, Kimmel hosted the Emmys for ABC in 2016 and 2012, and recent hosts include Anthony Anderson on Fox, Kenan Thompson on NBC, and Cedric the Entertainer on CBS.

Previous Winners

At the 75th Emmys, “Succession,” “The Bear,” and “Beef” made waves in their respective drama, comedy, and limited series categories. “Succession” and “The Bear” tied with six wins each, while “Beef” closely followed with five trophies.
