Hamilton, Bermuda—15 November 2023: The Toys for Tots tradition continues this year as Butterfield partners with the Coalition for the Protection of Children (CPC) to launch an island-wide collection campaign. Together, they aim to spread holiday cheer to children in need. From now until Monday, 4 December, individuals can contribute by donating new toys for children up to the age of 12, gift cards for teenagers, and vouchers for parents to use on clothing, groceries, or utilities. Convenient drop-off locations across the island have been set up to facilitate donations:
- Butterfield’s Banking Centres: Front Street, St George’s, and Somerset
- Annex Toys at Phoenix
- Arnold’s Discount Warehouse
- Gorham’s
- People’s Pharmacy
- PriceRite stores in Mill’s Creek and Warwick
To ensure that each gift reaches the right recipient, all donations must be unwrapped. These contributions will help alleviate stress for many families facing hardships during the festive season and offer them much-needed support. Following the completion of the drive, the charity will distribute the donated items to families on 10 December.

Butterfield’s Head of Retail Banking and Operations in Bermuda, Shawnette Griffin, expressed pride in supporting Toys for Tots this year and assisting the Coalition for the Protection of Children in their mission to spread goodwill during the season of giving. Griffin enthused, “This is a wonderful way for our community to support one another, and we encourage everyone who is able to make a donation. We can’t wait to see the collection boxes in each of our Banking Centres fill up.”

Kelly Hunt, Executive Director of the Coalition for the Protection of Children, welcomed Butterfield as their Community Sponsor, expressing excitement and gratitude for their involvement. Hunt stressed that the holidays can be particularly challenging for families struggling to make ends meet. Toys for Tots aims to bring extra joy and holiday spirit to support these families in need. Hunt emphasized, “We see firsthand the immense difference these gifts can make, and we wouldn’t be able to do it without the generous support of those involved and, of course, the incredible generosity of the public. Our goal this year is to set a new record of 2,500 donated items, so we urge you to give generously once again and ensure no child goes without this season.”
