December 4, 2023 – Last day to file nominating petitions (except for President and Delegates).

December 18, 2023 – Last day to file petitions for referenda.
December 20, 2023 – First day to apply to Vote By Mail for the March 19, 2024 Presidential Primary Election.
December 26, 2023 – Last day to file objections to petitions for referenda.
January 2, 2024 – Last day for local governing boards (i.e. Chicago City Council) to adopt resolution questions for the Primary ballot.

January 4, 2024 – First day for President and Delegates/Alt. Delegates to file nominating petitions. First day for military families to apply to Vote By Mail.
January 5, 2024 – Last day for President and Delegates/Alt. Delegates to file nominating petitions.
January 11, 2024 – Last day for candidates to withdraw candidacy. Last day for the Illinois State Board to certify candidates to County Clerks.
January 12, 2024 – Last day to file objections to President and Delegate/Alt. Delegate nominating petitions.
January 17, 2024 – Last day for the Cook County Clerk to certify candidates to the Chicago Board of Elections.
January 18, 2024 – Last day to file as a write-in candidate for the March 19, 2024 Presidential Primary Election.
February 8, 2024 – First day of mailing for Vote By Mail ballots.

February 15, 2024 – First day of Early Voting in Chicago at the Board Supersite (191 N. Clark / Clark & Lake).
February 20, 2024 – Last day to register to vote by paper application, with the exception of Grace Period/Same Day Registration.
February 21, 2024 – Grace Period/Same Day Registration begins.
March 3, 2024 – Last day to register to vote by online registration.
March 4, 2024 – First day of Early Voting in all 50 Wards in Chicago.
March 14, 2024 – Last day to apply to Vote By Mail for the March 19, 2024 Presidential Primary Election.
March 18, 2024 – Last day of Early Voting in Chicago. All Early Voting sites will also be open on Election Day as Vote Centers.
ELECTION DAY: TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 2024
On Election Day from 6:00am to 7:00pm, a voter may cast a ballot at either their assigned precinct polling place or at any vote center within Chicago. Same Day Registration is available at all precinct polling places and vote centers.Find your polling place information here.
