Last year: Approximately 776,000 people attended the Fair.

What are the Fair hours?

The Fair gates open Monday through Friday at 5 p.m., Saturdays at 10 a.m. and Sunday at noon. Buildings and exhibits close around 10 p.m., while rides close at midnight or 1 a.m. on weekends and earlier during the week.

How much do tickets for the Fair cost?

Adult tickets are $12 at the gate and $10 (plus a fee) online. Tickets for children ages 6-12 are $6, and tickets for children 5 and under are free. Season tickets are good for all 10 days andare $45. They must be purchased online. A Mega Ticket is $30 and includes gate admission and a ride armband. Tickets are half-price on the first day (Thursday, Aug. 17) and ride tickets are $1 if 10 ride tickets are purchased.

What are the parking options?

General on-site parking is free; preferred on-site parking is $10. Handicapped parking is in the parking lot of the Farm Bureau Expo Center. Free parking is available at the Cumberland University football stadium parking lot (415 Harding Dr.) and First Baptist Church and the Wilson County Courthouse (227 E. Main St.). Buses will make trips from the offsite locations from 4-11 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

What are some of the safety measures for the Fair?

The Fair is under the jurisdiction of the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office and Lebanon Police Department. Visitors will enter the Fairgrounds through a metal detector and all bags will be searched. Weapons are not allowed on the Fairgrounds even for concealed weapons permit holders. Law enforcement personnel will provide traffic control, conduct security checks throughout designated parking areas and patrol the Fairgrounds.

Parents can use photo booths located at each gate to take a photo of their child when arriving, which will help workers and law enforcement personnel find a child if they get separated.

What is the new clear bag policy?

Approved bags to bring into the Fair include clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12x6x12. A logo no larger than 4.5×3.4 can be displayed on one side of a permissible clear bag; one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar); small clutch bags no larger than 4.5×6.5 (approximately the size of a hand); medically necessary items and diaper bags accompanied with a baby are allowed after proper inspection.

What are the new rides this year?

Rides company Reithoffer Shows announced four new rides for the 2023 Fair.

The Speedy Gonzalez is a smaller version of the adult-sized roller coaster. The ride is located in the kiddie land area and children will ride in “mouse cars.”

New York New York is a fun house that includes a rotating barrel, toboggan, vibrating footboard, rolling carpet and swirling slide exit. Open-toed shoes are not allowed on the ride.

The Hulk is a thrill ride that swings right to left, rotates 360 degrees and is about 60 feet in the air when fully extended. Four cars hold four riders who will experience about 15 spins during the two-minute ride.

Ice Jet is a spinning ride with music blasting while LED lights and strobe lights illuminate the ride.

The carnival will feature about 60 rides and attractions, including 20 rides for children. Rides open at 5 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

What is the musical lineup?

The Fair will feature seven stages for musical entertainment – Fiddlers Grove Back Porch Stage, Community Stage, Entertainment Stage, Farm Bureau Expo Center Stage, Hee Haw Wagon Stage, Melrose Church and Opry Stage. Four of the stages are located in Fiddlers Grove, two stages are near the Farm Bureau Expo Center and one is located inside the Expo Center.

Point of Grace will headline the Fair concert series on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. and Little Texas will perform Monday, Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Both performances will be at the Entertainment Stage, located east of the Poultry and Rabbit Barn.

What are some of the non-musical entertainment options?

Daily entertainment includes All-American Racing Pigs, balloon artist Poppin’ Penelope and Hillia Hula Hoop Extraordinaire. The Fair will feature more than 100 livestock shows, demonstrations in Fiddlers Grove, antique car show, Wilson County High School Football Kickoff and Spirit Jam. What is the beauty pageant schedule?

The Fair will feature 12 pageants, headlined by the Fairest of the Fair Pageant on Thursday, Aug. 17, at 7:30 p.m. Other pageants include King of the Fair, Celebrating Lovely, Ms. Wilson County Fair, Ms. Wilson County Senior, Fair Princess, Doll Parade and Baby Show

What are some new attractions and events this year?

The Husband Calling Contest and Mom Calling Contest are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 19; a Monster Truck Show and Remote Control Mini Demo Derby are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 21, and Kids Four Wheeler Rodeo is scheduled for Aug. 23.

The Pick Tennessee Products Experience will be located inside the Turner Evans Building B and will include demonstrations, free food and more than 200 local products for sale. The entries for the Scarecrow Goddess Competition will be displayed daily throughout the fairgrounds.

What are some other activities on the Fair schedule?

The Fair features more than 100 livestock shows and 150 events, so there’s always something happening while the gates are open. Some other activities include Trivia with Lebanon Mayor Rick Bell on Aug. 17, Aug. 19, Aug. 24 and Aug. 26; Armwrestling Contest and Outhouse Races on Aug. 19; the FCE Fashion Review and Rhode Island Red Head Contest on Aug. 21; and Corn Hole Tournament on Aug. 26. Will there be food available at the Fair?

Some would argue the food is the best part of the Fair. There will be more than 60 food vendors at this year’s Fair and the lineup includes Wilson County favorites Ceah’s Soul Food, Chads Winter Wonderland, Down N the Bayou, Fried Green Tomatoes, Hillbilly Shack Delights, Roasted Coconut, Shop Springs Creamery, Strouds Barbecue and Sumthin Smokin. Food vendors are primarily located along the Midway and between the Midway and Fiddlers Grove.
