An 18-year-old man is suspected of killing an Olney High School teacher in a murder that left apparent bloodstains around a room in her West Main Street home in Olney, according to court documents.
Julius Orion Xavier Mullins of Olney was arrested Monday and has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Manuela Sabine Allen, 49, on or about July 7, according to court documents.

Mullins is suspected of inflicting multiple stab wounds on Allen and murdering her by asphyxiation, according to court records.
Murder is a first-degree felony punishable by five to 99 years, or life, in prison.
Mullins was being held Wednesday in Young County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
He attended Olney High School and played football, according to Olney community members.
Mullins is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds, according to the online jail roster.
On July 7, Allen’s body was discovered at Lake Cooper in Archer County. The lake is about 5 miles northwest of Olney, which is located in Young County.
Mullins was arrested at 7:12 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of West Elm Street in Olney by the Young County Sheriff’s Office, according to an arrest warrant.

On July 7, the ranger began assisting the Young County Sheriff’s Office with a missing person investigation involving Allen.
At her home, investigators found apparent blood stains clearly stemming from serious injury and likely from the victim’s death.
The apparent blood stains indicated multiple sites around the room where it appeared that bloodletting occurred.
In addition, bloody footprints were apparently left after someone walked through blood into the kitchen.
Investigators found that two different sources left footprints in blood on the kitchen floor.
A sock worn by Mullins was consistent with the foot impression in the kitchen.
On Monday, Mullins was interviewed by authorities. He admitted to being the ex-boyfriend of Allen’s daughter. Mullins said they broke up over a year ago.
But during the interview, he said he left fingerprints on Allen’s car about a month ago, and he admitted to sitting in the driver’s seat of the car.
The car was the vehicle used to take Allen’s body to Lake Cooper. Investigators found fingerprints revealing human blood proteins on the car.
At the scene where the victim’s body was found, investigators discovered bicycle tire tracks near the car and Allen’s body.

A bicycle that Mullins said he used over two months had tires that matched the bike tracks where the body was recovered.

In an initial interview with prospective witnesses, a witness indicated that he saw someone riding from the Lake Cooper area toward Olney in the early morning of July 7.
Shoes worn by Mullins appeared to match footprints at the scene where Allen’s body was found.
She suffered multiple stab wounds and asphyxiation, which fractured her neck.
The Archer County News provided copies of the arrest warrant and the ranger’s complaint to the Times Record News.
Before the murder charge, Mullins was booked into Young County Jail and released March 9 on a charge of possession of less than two ounces of marijuana, according to the jail’s online roster.

He was booked into jail May 26 on charges of tampering with identification numbers on personal property; failure to identify by giving false/fictitious information; and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the jail’s online roster. He was released May 28.
Bonds on all of the charges above totaled $5,000.
Originally from Germany, Allen was a German and English teacher.
Among the community’s expressions of mourning was a statement school officials released July 8 on Facebook:
“We are deeply saddened at the passing of Manuela Allen. This is a tragic loss to the staff and students of Olney High School, but even more devastating to her family,” officials stated.
“We hope that all who are grieved by Mrs. Allen’s passing will find peace,” OHS officials stated.
