Angel City Football Club’s third season will kick off with the first installment of another in-state rivalry, this time with a new opponent from Northern California.
Angel City, which has a rivalry with San Diego Wave FC, will host Northern California-based Bay FC on March 16 at BMO Stadium, the opening weekend of the 2024 NWSL season.

Bay FC and Utah Royals FC are the two new expansion teams in the 14-team NWSL this season.
With the two new teams joining, the number of regular-season games will increase this season. Each team will play 26 regular-season games (13 home, 13 away).
After the home opener, Angel City will play three consecutive games (Orlando Pride, Kansas City Current and Chicago Red Stars) on the road, before returning home for consecutive home matches (April 21 against North Carolina and April 26 against Kansas City).
Angel City will travel north to face Bay FC on June 22 at PayPal Park in San Jose.
Angel City’s first game against San Diego is May 23 at BMO Stadium. The trip to San Diego and Snapdragon Stadium is scheduled for Aug. 24.
The league has a scheduled break (July 6-Aug. 24) to accommodate the Summer Olympics in Paris. After the break, Angel City will resume the regular season on Sept. 1 at home against Chicago.

June and September are the club’s busiest months with five games each. The team has a challenging stretch of three games in eight days in June – June 15 at Houston, a June 19 home game against Racing Louisville, followed by the match at Bay FC.
The final day of the regular season is Nov. 1.
This is also the first season of the NWSL’s new media distribution deal with four broadcast partners (CBS Sports, ESPN, Amazon Prime Video and Scripps Sports). Six Angel City games will air on Friday nights on Prime Video, eight games will be on Saturday nights on ION network, seven will be on the CBS Sports Network and Paramount+, ESPN will air one game and the final four will air on NWSL+, a new platform which will be available to fans this season.
