Joey Logano won the pole for Sunday’s Daytona 500 during Wednesday’s single-car qualifying.

Logano’s 49.465-second lap outran Michael McDowell by less than a tenth in the final round of qualifying. Logano also had the fastest lap during the first round of qualifying. It’s his first Daytona 500 pole.
Logano and McDowell lock into the front row for Sunday’s 500, while the lineups for the duel races were otherwise set.
Alex Bowman, who had a six-year streak of being in the front row of the Daytona 500, did not reach the final round of 10 drivers. And no Toyotas made the final round of qualifying.
