MLB Old Timers game 2023 features the game against Milwaukee Brewers at Yankee Stadium on 9th September 2023.
The event is usually celebrated from the early afternoon to the late afternoon tributing the accomplishments of the retired former club legends of the club. Yankees old timers day schedule has scheduled the game at 2:05 PM (Eastern Time).

The Yankees started this tradition in the late 1930s to honor their legendary players, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. One of the most well-known celebrations is Lou Gehrig Day on 4th July 1939.
The invited former players will wear a Yankees uniform with numbers on their backs with names and symbols. They are split into two teams and are greeted by the crowds with a standing ovation during their walk up to the field.

They enjoy their two-innings game during the event between the two teams due to the age factor. Fans can have nostalgia seeing the club’s legends and former players which they usually heard of.
Special giveaways are also provided during the event for the fans including a Heritage Yankees cap.
New York Yankees old timers Day in 2022 was held on 30th July 2022 at Yankee Stadium. Michael Kay and John Sterling were the ones to perform from behind the home plate before their introduction.
Yankees coach Aaron Boone, hitting coach Hensley Muelens, and former outfielder Shane Spencer were also present. YES Network announcers, David Cone and John Flaherty were also in the rosters for the event.

28 honorees were featured in the 2022 event at the stadium.
The event was held after two seasons gap due to the COVID-19 pandemic spreading and due to this the club didn’t host the exhibition game in 2022 due to several players being injured.
Attendees include Ron Guidry, Willie Randolph, Bernie Williams, and Tino Martinez. They promised to host the exhibition game in the 2023 season on 9th September.

- On 29th July 1921, Cleveland Indians held their old-timers game at Dunn Field with participations including Neal Ball, Charlie Hickman, Cy Young, and Chief Zimmer.
- New York Giants also hosted the event on 30th July 1950 which featured the return of Fred Merkle also famous as “Merkle’s Boner” during his days.
- Comiskey Park hosted the event during the All-Star Game week on 5th July 1983 to mark the 50th midsummer classic celebrations. Notable invitees included Ernie Banks, Bobby Doerr, Joe DiMaggio, Burleigh Grimes, Frank Robinson, and Willie Mays.
- Dodgers revived their old-timers day after 18 years gap in 2013 and the Mets in 2022 after 1994 marking their 60th anniversary of Mets baseball.
