Tension arises between Devi and Fabiola in Never Have I Ever season 4 as both apply to Princeton University but which college does Fab end up going to?

With the arrival of Never Have I Ever season 4, the much-loved Netflix series enters its final installment as Devi Vishwakumar and her friends enter their senior year at Sherman Oaks High School.
This means that college admissions take up a huge chuck of the plot in season 4 and tension arises as both Devi and Fabiola apply to Princeton threatening each other’s place at the prestigious school

Devi and Fabiola apply to Princeton
As Never Have I Ever returns for season 4, Devi, Fabiola and the rest of their classmates enter senior year, which means it’s time to plan for their futures and send off college applications.
Ever since Devi was in the first grade, she has been dreaming of attending Princeton University, after she and her late father came up with the idea.
As such, Devi is hopeful of being accepted in Princeton’s early application window but her plans are complicated when she makes a terrible first impression with the school’s admissions officer, Akshara, and faces some unexpected competition.
Devi’s friend, Fabiola Torres, had been planning to attend a college with a prestigious engineering program and initially set her sights on Yale.

However, at the college fair in episode 4, she gets talking with Akshara about the robotics program at Princeton and how they’re planning to build their own BB-8 droid from Star Wars – which is ironic as the actress playing Akshara, Janina Gavankar, is a Star Wars veteran herself as she played Iden Versio in the 2017 video game, Battlefront II.
Following some persuasion from her mother, Fab decides to apply to Princeton as well, despite knowing that it’s always been Devi’s dream to go there.
It proves to be a contentious move as Fabiola gets accepted into Princeton while Devi’s early application gets deferred until later in the year, which causes a huge amount of tension between them until they eventually manage to patch things up.
Where does Fabiola go to college?
Fabiola ends up going to Howard University in Washington, DC, by the end of Never Have I Ever season 4.
Despite initially being accepted into Princeton, Fabiola harbors doubts about attending for the rest of the season, notably after visiting the school in episode 5 as she doesn’t feel a spark about going there.
In episode 9, while attending a technology fair, Fab crosses paths with a professor from Howard University, Dr Leela Tye, who is an expert in robotics, and they instantly hit it off when discussing Fab’s robot, Gears.
In the final moments of season 4, Never Have I Ever shows a montage of where its main characters all end up and this includes Fabiola as we see that she has accepted a place at Howard and is now working on a project with Dr Tye.
What happens to the rest of Never Have I Ever’s cast?
After initially having her application deferred by Princeton, Devi faces another bump in the road as she ends up getting wait-listed by the school.

To make matters worse, Devi receives rejection notices from every other college she applied to, which leaves her teetering on the edge of academic failure.
But after speaking with Akshara one final time, Devi does some much-needed soul-searching and submits a heartfelt supplementary essay that finally persuades Princeton to accept her.
Meanwhile, Devi and Fab’s friend Eleanor ends up graduating from high school early so that she can pursue a career as an actress, but after only getting jobs as extras or dead bodies, she changes tack and takes classes in becoming a director with the aim of directing and starring in her own projects.
In the final montage, we see Eleanor working on an action movie set alongside her boyfriend Trent, who has discovered a talent for pyrotechnic special effects.
Devi’s long-time crush Paxton Hall-Yoshida has plenty of thinking to do in season 4, too, as he initially feels out of place at Arizona State University and ends up dropping out in order to return to Sherman Oaks as the school’s assistant swimming coach.
But after initially returning as the king of the jungle, Paxton begins to realize that he needs to move on to something new and after some welcome advice from new arrival Ms Lindsay Thompson and helping wannabe swimmer Eric Perkins, he returns to ASU after re-enrolling on a teaching course.
And finally, there is Ben Gross, Devi’s academic rival and eventual love interest.
Unsurprisingly, Ben is quickly accepted into his first choice of Columbia University and after patching things up with Devi, the pair end season 4 in a relationship, which is helped by the fact their two colleges are located very close together in New York and New Jersey respectively.
