When you think about medium range cookware that combines professional quality with affordability, Anolon comes to your mind. Since 1984, this brand has improved kitchen appliances in every way, but their main product are pot and pans. For that reason, I decided to make this in-depth Anolon cookware review.
You are viewing: Which Anolon Cookware Is Best
For starters, my favorite feature about Anolon is the high quality of their products. And the best prove is that each of their sets- including the ones that i will mention in this article- comes with a lifetime warranty.
Now, let’s start.
Anolon Cookware Review
Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set
This is one of Anolon’s top sellers. It is a sturdy and resistant hard-anodized cookware set. Just like the majority of pans made of this material, the bottom center is made of gauge aluminum which adds to the heating efficiency they usually lack. It is not compatible with induction cooktops but it is one of the best cookware sets for gas stoves.
These pots and pans may be a little heavy but they have an excellent structure and you won’t feel like the handles cannot maintain the weight of the pan.
The handles are made of stainless steel and are dual riveted for extra strength. The only bad thing is that they can get hot after 350F, so you have to be careful and use kitchen rags to secure the handles.
The nonstick coating is made of Autograph 2 which makes an incredible work. You can cook without any oil and your food will not stick to the bottom of the pan. The food is released easily cleaning the pans is a piece of cake. Also, it is very resistant to scratches. The only downside is that this set is not dishwasher safe.
What is Autograph 2?
This type of coating has been designed by DuPont – yes the same company that made famous Teflon. It is a reinforced surface with three layers of nonstick coating.
As you may know, Teflon has been involved in a health controversy for releasing fumes when overheated. First, I have to say that this is really unlikely because the fumes will appear after 500F. There is not a meal that requires that amount of heat, in fact, if you cook in that temperature you will end eating charred food.
Overall, it’s a solid non-stick surface and if you know the basic cares of a teflon surface, you won’t have any problem with toxic fumes or damage to the surface.
Appearance of the set
This set only comes in two colors: matte and classical black (inner coating and exterior surface) with grey handles. The other color is a warm bronze outside with a chocolate brown nonstick inner coating- this is by far my favorite combination.
What’s in this set
- 1.5-Quart Covered Saucepan
- 3-Quart Covered Saucepan
- 8-Quart Covered Stockpot
- 8.5-Inch French Skillet
- 12-Inch Covered Deep Skillet with Helper Handle
- 3-Quart Covered Saute
Anolon Achieve Hard-Anodized Nonstick Cookware Set
This set is like the Anolon Advanced’s big brother. It is the definition of sturdiness and resistance. Nothing can break these pans. The pieces are made of heavy duty, hard-anodized with an aluminum core for an even heating of the surface with no cold spots.
The nonstick surface is made of Autograph 2 too with three layers for extra durability. For that reason, it truly works without oil and the most important thing is that the nonstick properties don’t vanish after a few uses.
This set is completely dishwasher safe and oven safe until 500F – like I said before, it is an insane temperature for cooking so you do not need more-, including the lids.

This remarkable 18/10 stainless steel set – if you don’t know what 18/10 means, you can read this article; but in fewer words, it’s one of the best in the market. Also, it’s a semi-professional set with a fair price for the quality that you get from the pans.
It’s suitable for all stovetops- yes, including the famous induction method ones- so you don’t have to worry about replacing the set in case you decide to change your currently cooktop.
This kind of pans are the perfect match for searing meats because it gives them a brownish finish and also you can easily make a gravy with the stuck pieces of the meat. You will also create incredible sauteed vegetables with the skillets.
As you should know, stainless steel is not a nonstick surface, so you will have to use a little oil.
The pots and pans are completely dishwasher safe and they don’t stain easily. Also, the pieces are oven safe until 500F.

Anolon’s Nouvelle line
This line is specialized in copper cookware sets, but with a brilliant twist.
Let me explain this:
Normally, copper cookware is used for backpacking and camping purposes. The reason is that this material is light and energy efficient.
If you use cast iron or stainless steel cookware you will notice that the pots can take a while until they reach the proper heat. When the pan is heated evenly, it retains the energy and even when you turn off the stove it remain hot for a while. For that reason, cast iron is the perfect choice to make pizza, for example.
But copper is the opposite. It heats faster and when you remove it from the stove, it does not remain hot for a long period of time. This gives you a high control of the cooking process and the temperature.
The big downside of copper is that it’s so lightweight that it can be damaged in regular use. Also, the appearance of a 100% copper cookware set is not so elegant.
Anolon decided to release to the market the best of both materials in each set of the Nouvelle line. The exterior of the pieces will be one of the classic materials -stainless steel or hard anodized- and the main core will be copper. For me, this is an outstanding line because you can get the sturdiness and the heat control in just one set, pretty cool huh?
So let’s review the two sets of this line:
Anolon Nouvelle Copper Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set

The core of this beautiful and professional set is made of a full layer of copper sandwiched in two layer of aluminum. The body is polished 18/10 stainless steel.
It is suitable for all cooktops and you can even use the dishwasher without worrying about a possible stain on the surface. Oven safe until 500F.
Appearance of the set:
I have to confess that one of the things that caught my attention about this set was the design. As I commented, copper cookware usually is pretty boring, but not this set.
The pots and pans have a graceful tulip shape that is just adorable. The surface is completely polished and shiny.
What’s in this set:
- 1-1/4-Quart Covered Saucepan
- 2-1/2-Quart Covered Saucepan
- 6-1/2-Quart Covered Stockpot
- 8-Inch-French Skillet
- 10-1/2-Inch French Skillet
- 3-Quart Covered Sauté
Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set
This is the non-stick version of the Nouvelle line. The core is a full copper layer sandwiched between two layers of aluminum and protected with a stainless steel encapsulator that allows this set to be induction-friendly. It is suitable for all kind of cooktops.
The body is made of the always reliable hard-anodized and the non-stick surface is Autograph 2. This set has been made to last .
The handles are cast hollow-cored stainless steel that are ergonomic and secure to use in high temperatures. The lids are made of stainless steel. I really would prefer glass lids, just because I like to see my food while I’m cooking.
It is not suitable with dishwasher so you will have to clean the pans by hand, but remember that Autograph 2 is a high-end coating and will make the job easy. The set is oven safe until 500F.
The appearance of the set:
This is a classic set that only comes in grey exterior and black inner coating. I would like if Anolon incorporated other colours, like a brown version or even a bright exterior.
The finish is kind of brushed and the handles are more curved than the usual ones that Anolon uses and I really like their look.
What’s in this set:
- 1.5 Qt. Covered Saucepan
- 3 Qt. Covered Saucepan
- 8 Qt. Covered Stockpot
- 3 Qt. Covered Saute with helper handle
- 8.5-Inch Skillet
- 12 Inch- Covered Skillet
Final Thoughts
There is no more to say than Anolon is a medium-to-high-end brand that is pretty reliable. The cookware sets have great quality and a lifetime warranty. They have a set for almost every material of cookware -I’m hoping that they create a ceramic set *fingers crossed*- and they make incredibly innovative lines as the Nouvelle one.
If you are considering buying an Anolon set you must know they are pricey but worth the money.
I hope this Anolon cookware review has been helpful to you.
Happy Cooking!
