Hilton Head’s own small airport, located to its northern end and within easy reach by taxi or rideshare (or rental vehicle) of destinations across the island and in nearby communities, has expanded its offerings in recent years.

Hilton Head now offers daily year-round scheduled flights to several major hub airports, offering the possibility of connecting flights to almost anywhere. A few extra routes are also offered seasonally, although these routes often operate on a much less frequent schedule.

Flights to Hilton Head Airport are currently received from:

Atlanta, GA: Year round, United. – Charlotte, NC: Year round, American. – Dallas/Fort Worth, TX: Seasonal only, American. – Newark, NJ: Year round, Delta. – Philadelphia, PA: Seasonal only, American. – Washington, DC: Year round, Delta (Dulles); seasonal only, American (National).

Private charter flights are also available to Hilton Head Airport.

The downside of flying into Hilton Head Airport is the lack of non-stop routes, with a connection required unless you happen to be coming from one of the few cities served. Flights to Hilton Head may sometimes be more expensive than to Savannah’s airport or other regional alternatives.

Hilton Head Island Airport is not currently served by public transport, but taxi and rideshare services are available from the airport. Taxis should be reserved in advance if possible.

Several car rental agencies are in operation at Hilton Head Airport. Most destinations on the island are within about 15-30 minutes’ drive.
