So hear me out, I understand a new character is gonna cause Deranking to begin with due to many reasons like both teams just not understanding him or how to use him, but after looking into many reviews and even some top 500 players unable to get him ranked up at all (like DeFran) due to his kit having no aggressive gameplay components I’m even more curious to see if anyone else has **experienced the same thing as me – falling from Masters 2 to plat 1 in a matter of 15-20 games played.
I end most games with best heals, 1-3 deaths even on games where my team dies more. And utilizing his kit to the best of what my team needs at the time (pulling some out of position hit scans with no mobility to high ground) and I have many games where my team actually enjoys him on the team.

I can say I play him better than my ana, Moira, brig AND zen who I played to get into Masters 2 and I truly feel he just PROLONGS fights long enough for ur team to stall or come out on top of DPS pop off. THATS ALL. And because of this I truly feel the overwatch comp algorithm just isn’t working out with LifeWeaver.
What does a LiveWeaver have to do? Honest answer only cause I’m sure our community may have trouble with him but besides “don’t play him right now” I feel the issue isn’t being address. Pulling DPS at 100 health surrounded by multiple enemies is a life saved but if they aren’t 1 hp and taking damage the instant u hit the button u don’t get recognition from the system under lives saved AND Why IS THORN KILLS A PRIMARY TOPIC WITH HIS HEALS ALREADY LOW AND DAMAGE LOW?. Yes I have cleaned a few fights but most of the time, that’s not an option with his kit.
They mention his damage going up maybe even after this last buff. But unless. It’s enough for him to be the next zen/ana in kill capabilities I don’t see it. Even ML7 played him and was excited to see he got 10 elims and saved 5 people from death. Yes that’s good but not nearly useful enough according to the comp algorithm and if I went down to high diamond slowly I can see it. Dropping 4 ranks at a time and then getting done with an amazing game with friends and being told the heals were amazing to dropping from diamond 4 to plat 1…

So I’m playing my other healers again and on my way back up the rank quickly and both signs now point to overwatch not having any idea what they want this new dude to be doing and my reaction couldn’t be higher with this guy. The ability to help so many members of ur team quicker with swapping from healing to pulling and lifting feels as nice as when Moira first came out but if non of that matters to rank up with him he’s just dangerous to play even if u r good.
Also it’s possible it’s not effecting everyone but I’m down to share a clip if need be. I would just much rather first see if other player who swapped to play only lifeweaver in comp for a while also experienced anything like this?
P.s. I’m a nice dude and never fussy so don’t read anything like I’m angry, just loud about a topic I care about.
