Just like any other social media platform we are interested in who is following us and sometimes more importantly who has unfollowed us. While we don’t think it’s healthy to look at your stats this closely, it’s human nature to be intrigued as to who has unfollowed you. Knowing why people have unfollowed you can give you good information to improve the quality of your stream. In this article we are going to show you how to find out who unfollowed you on Twitch. Let’s jump in.
Can You See Who Unfollowed You On Twitch?
Within Twitch directly there is no way to see who unfollowed you on the platform. Twitch does not get this granular with its analytics. However there are third party methods you can use to see who has unfollowed or unsubscribed from you on the platform.

Platforms That Show You Who Unfollowed On Twitch
We were able to find two different platforms that show you who has unfollowed or followed you on Twitch.
Stream Elixir
This application allows you to track unfollowers on Twitch. You can use this to potentially ask the viewer what made them unfollow and subsequently improve your stream so other don’t unfollow.
To access the unfollower feature you do need to use a paid package. This costs $15 per month. Personally I don’t think this is worth it to see who has unfollowed you as it is not that important.
Unfollow
Unfollow is another app that will track unfollows on Twitch but again it costs money. However there is a 7 day free trial you can use. You can utilise it for a week and see who is unfollowing before cancelling the app.

After the free trial period it will costs 9 Euros per month. Again I don’t this is worth it just to see who has unfollowed you.
Others Ways To Monitor Follower Numbers On Twitch
The best way to look at your following is as a collective. There is no need to individually see who is unfollowing.
You can see your follower count and growth in your Twitch dashboard. To view this follow the steps below:
- Click on your profile picture in the top right of Twitch -> Creator Dashboard
- In Creator Dashboard navigate to Insights on the left hand side and select channel analytics -> Follows
- Here you can see the amount of follows you are getting per stream on Twitch.
As long as your follower count is continually going up, you shouldn’t worry too much about unfollows. Some people will naturally unfollow you over time, this is normal. You should not call people out in chat for unfollowing you. Ultimately it is their choice.
What To Do If Lots Of People Are Unfollowing You On Twitch?
If lots of people are unfollowing you on Twitch in a short period of time there is probably a reason. It may be one of the following:
- You said something that offended many people
- You made a sudden change in content (changed game)
These are the two main reasons people unfollow. If they previously liked your content you have likely made a drastic change for them to leave. If you are changing game because you are really burnt out on the game you’re known for you will take a hit in followers. This is okay as you have a plan to add more variety to your content. You should know going into a game switch you will lose a portion of your audience.

If you have said something that offended people but it’s your belief (politics) then stick with it and make it part of your brand. Some people will like it and some people will hate it. This is fine and many big creators have this. If you have done something wrong that offends everyone you should work on fixing your reputation.
Other Reasons People Unfollow On Twitch
Follow For Follow
If you have engaged in follow for follow tactics in the past, eventually these people will unfollow you. We highly recommend avoiding this strategy as it is a waste of time. These people are not real fans and will likely not watch your stream.
Bot Deletion
At certain points in the year, Twitch will delete bot accounts. This is standard and these accounts aren’t real humans. Therefore it really doesn’t matter that you lost followers as they weren’t actually real fans.
Does It Matter What My Follower Count Is?
Wanting a big follower count is just for ego. It doesn’t actually benefit you. The only thing that really matters on Twitch is your viewer count. Real viewers! These are the people who will engage, watch and sub to your stream.
You don’t get any benefits for having a bigger following after reaching affiliate status on Twitch.
Wrapping Up
Ultimately it doesn’t matter who unfollowed you on Twitch. If lot’s of people have unfollowed you, audit your content and see if you are doing something wrong or what could be done better. Don’t worry about individual people unfollowing you on Twitch.
