Who Makes Ariens Ax Engines

Ariens only fit premium quality engines. Each one is selected for its durability, power, fuel economy and low noise operation. Ariens fits Ariens and Kawasaki engines.

Ariens 764cc engine

With today’s fuel prices, the Ariens 764cc engine provides some respite thanks to its high efficiency combustion enabled by its Overhead V-valves. However, when it comes to power and performance, this large engine ensures there is no compromise. The comfort level of the operator is enhanced with the lower vibration the 90 degree V-twin configuration the engine offers.

Reliability and durability are helped by the cast iron cylinder liners which are fitted as standard on their 4-stroke engine range.

The core technology of the Ariens engine is the innovative design of the engines’ combustion chamber. It’s designed to have a smaller surface to volume ratio with the spark plug located at the center of the combustion chamber. This shortens the flame propagation distance, making the fuel mixture burn more quickly and sufficiently to improve the combustion efficiency and exhaust emissions. The fine tuned carburetor provides optimal air-fuel ratio and suitable fuel spray pattern under each operating condition, also giving excellent fuel economy.

Key features include:

  • 90°angle V-twin and dynamic crankshaft balance design, compact structure, less vibration
  • Optimised balance shaft design, offering less vibration and more stable running
  • Lower engine temperature enabled by the Overhead Valve (OHV) design
  • Primary and Secondary oil filter system provide better lubrication
  • Cast Iron Sleeve with improved lubrication, better anti-wear performance, prolonging the life of the engine
  • Metal cam and forged crankshaft makes engine more reliable and durable

Kawasaki engines

Ariens zero-turns also use Kawasaki FR and FX Series engines dependent on the model. The IKON XD, APEX 48/48R and 52/52R run FR Series engines. These engines provide a high quality power solution for our larger residential and prosumer zero-turns, offering smooth, quiet, low-vibration running.

The ZENITH 52/52R and 60/60R commercial zero-turns run FX engines. These engines are fitted to ensure they meet the demands of our heavy-duty commercial zero-turns and are constructed using premium quality components and materials, offering the highest levels of performance and durability when it’s needed most.

With today’s fuel prices, both the Kawasaki FR and FX Series provides some respite thanks to their high efficiency combustion enabled by its Overhead V-valves. However, when it comes to power and performance, the big block engine ensures there is no compromise. The comfort level of the operator is enhanced with the lower vibration the 90 degree V-twin configuration engine offers.

Kawasaki is renowned for its reliability and durability helped by the cast iron cylinder liners which are fitted as standard on their 4-stroke engine range.

Maintenance is kept to a minimum, which means your mower will spend less time in the workshop as the high performance lubrication system, rotating grass screen and dual element air filter makes sure the inside of your engine remains at optimum levels, running for longer in-between service sessions. Kawasaki engines are air-cooled, 4-stroke, V-twin, vertical shaft OHV engines. These premium specification, twin cylinder engines add extra power and refinement over single cylinder engines.
