Where Is Ashley Look At Me From

A popular sound clip that goes, “Ashley, look at me,” has been making its way into millions of TikToks lately, leading many social media users to wonder where exactly it came from.

The original audio comes from a scene in the Amazon Prime Video show The Boys, based on a comic book series of the same name.

The show, which imagines what would happen if superheroes used their powers for bad instead of good, follows the “Seven,” a team of celebrity superheroes (or “supes”) controlled by the evil corporation Vought International. Meanwhile, a group of vigilantes known as “The Boys” seeks to end corruption by bringing the rogue supes — and the powers that be at Vought — to justice by any means necessary.

The viral clip comes from Season 2, Episode 1 when Homelander (played by Antony Starr) yells the line to Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie), director of talent relations at Vought.

“Don’t look at him, look at me,” Homelander tells Barrett, who is looking down at the ground in shock.

“Ashley!” he then shouts. “Look at me!”

Though the original episode premiered in 2020, the sound only started going viral this past June when a fan edit posted by TikToker Sanika (@san.skywvker) included it. Along with the now-infamous Homelander line, Sanika remixed the sound to include a beat from the song “MONTAGEM – PR FUNK“ by S3BZS.

Since then, it’s taken on a life of its own.

To date, more than 4.9 million TikTokers have used Sanika’s sound edit, and videos listed under the hashtag #ashleylookatme have racked up more than 502.5 million views between them.

The audio is most commonly used in “transformation” videos, a trend where people first apply an “ugly” filter to their face before revealing what they actually look like at the end of the TikTok.

“I had to try this,” wrote the content creator Brooke Monk (@brookemonk_), whose “Ashley, look at me” TikTok now has over 25.3 million views.

Internet personality Hyeok Geun Choe (@gurrms0630) shared another popular “Ashley, look at me” video, which has a whopping 65.5 million views and counting.

By the looks of it, the popular trend doesn’t appear to be letting up any time soon.
