How To Crochet Gloves For Toddlers

Winter is coming soon! Keep the small hands warm with these cute mittens! The pattern can be used for toddler girls, but also for little boys using other color yarn! You can play with the colors, making the cuff in a different color as the rest of the mitten, or even alternate the colors for ribbing the cuff. Add some pretty appliques! Be creative! πŸ™‚

These mittens are started by the cuff, working rows back and fort with the single crochet back loops only.Folding the piece in half, you will slip stitch the short rows together to form a tube.

After this, the mittens are worked in rounds, starting at the edge of the ribbed cuff. (See the photo collage below)

Each round will begin with a ch1, that will not be counted as a stitch. End the rounds with slip stitch into the top of the first sc of the round, not in the beginning ch1.

The right hand and the left hand mittens are made the same way, only 1 round at the thumb opening it’s different! (Round 8 in the pattern).
