Who Is Freema Agyeman Dating

New Amsterdam stars Freema Agyeman (Helen) and Ryan Eggold (Max Goodwin) just did something very special together!

On June 12, the two actors showed off their new ink provided by London-based tattoo artist Lawrence Thomas. But what exactly did they get?

The first close-up picture shared by Thomas showed a dainty cursive tattoo on Agyeman’s fingers that read “to whom does the gift belong?” Next, she showed off a small red circle on her arm, and then we caught a glimpse of a minimalist heart on the palm of her hand. For Eggold’s ink he sported a stamp that says “easy tiger” on his arm, letterings that reads “E.I.I” on this thumb. How cool!

“New York, Paris, London. I have an INK-ling there may be more to come!!,” the actress wrote in an Instagram caption. “Thank you for our London art @lozthomas_tattoo!! And your patience, expertise and, most of all, twinkle!! 😉✨ We enjoyed all the spicy feels!! 😝 Where next RyRy? 🌎🌍🌏📌”

Thomas posted on his official Instagram page, “Thanks to @freemaofficial and @ryaneggold for coming by recently to get some new pieces ❤️🌞 #tattoo #tattoolondon #finelinetattoo #london,”

New Amsterdam officially wrapped with its gripping series finale on January 17, however Agyeman’s character Helen did not make an appearance in the finale episode following her exit in Season 4. (However, she did have a brief cameo in Season 5, Episode 11). Series creator David Schulner talked about why.

“[Freema] was totally up for returning for the season finale,” he said to TVLine. “It’s our one regret that her and Anupam Kher [Dr. Kapoor ] — his character died, obviously, on the show — but we would have loved to honor those characters and actors as well in the finale, but we just couldn’t make it work.”

He continued, “We really did try with Freema, too, just to see if we could get her, and it just didn’t time out right.”

“It all worked out the way it was supposed to work out, because the story we had for Freema in the finale wasn’t as good as what we ended up with,” he said. “So, on the plus side, we would’ve had Freema in the finale, but the downside is it wasn’t as satisfying.”

In an interview with NBC Insider, Eggold opened up about moving on with Season 5 without Agyeman.

“Working with Freema was the best, some of my favorite scenes,” he said. “She’s such a great actor and a great person, and we would really find little moments and looks and connection in a lot of those scenes and they were some of my favorite moments.”
