Here at Rising Creek Bakery we specialize in the production of Salt Rising Bread and many other house made specialties. Salt Rising Bread is a traditional Appalachian bread that was created by Appalachian settlers. It is a baking custom that has been passed down through generations. Stop in, grab a pastry, and see how we are keeping the tradition alive!
The Clovis family purchased Rising Creek Bakery in February of 2019 in an effort to keep a family tradition alive. Hillary and Kristin along with children, Hudsyn and Briggs (twins and salt rising connoisseurs), come from a long line of salt rising bakers. It wasn’t until the passing of Hillary’s mother and grandmother that the idea of “owning the salt rising bakery” came to a reality. Family baking and cooking have been a staple in their families for many generations. Salt Rising Bread and numerous baking traditions date back to Hillary’s late grandmothers, June Steele Clovis and Mildred “Mick” Cowell as well as Kristin’s grandmothers, Toni Kuchera and Nancy Baughman.

When do we ship?
We ship fresh bread daily on Monday, Tuesday and sometimes Wednesday depending on availability.

Where do we ship?
Anywhere Fedex or the United States Post office delivers.
How do you ship?
We use Fedex home delivery (ground), Fedex express and USPS priority mail, depending on distance and order size. If there’s a question or a preference for shipping please contact us at 724/324/5030.

There are several shipping options. Rates can be based on weight, box size, and location.
When will my order arrive?
We do not guarantee a delivery date as we are unable to control the salt rising starter or the shipping process with fedex or usps once your package leaves the store. We are able to provide estimated arrival dates based on the carriers estimates. We are not responsible for packages that do not arrive “on time” and any claims must be filed with specific carriers.
How to track an order after it has been shipped?
If the order is placed through the website an email with tracking info will be sent once the label is printed. Feel free to call the store and we will be happy to look up your tracking number and/or track your package for you.
