Who is Thomas Banks on Days of Our Lives?
Hey Days of Our Lives fans, SoapDirt.com has got something to talk about today. It’s about a name that just came out of Megan Hathaway’s mouth — Thomas Banks.
What she said was a lie and you might not have recognized the name. Unless you remember obscure characters from pre-2000. Or you may recall Thomas from Beyond Salem: Chapter 2. Today, we’re going to look at who is Thomas Banks.
Now, you might recall this week on DOOL that Megan Hathaway is locked up in an ISA cell. And Hope Brady and Steve Johnson interrogated her. They’re desperate to find Kayla Brady.
If you’re current on Days of Our Lives episodes, you’ll know Bo Brady snatched his sister and took off with her. The siblings are hiding on a goat farm where Victor Kiriakis grew up. However, Megan doesn’t want anybody to know that Bo’s alive.
But they do know that someone took Kayla. And so, they kept asking Megan who took Kayla. But where is Kayla? And Megan lied to them and blamed Thomas. But do you know who that is?
The Banks Quadruplets — Played by Eileen Davidson on DOOL
If you’re scratching your head and wondering who the heck is Thomas Banks, I’ve got the answer for you. So, the first thing to know, if you recognize the last name Banks, is that yes, he is related to Susan Banks and Sister Mary Moira Banks.
They are two of the infamous quadruplets on Days of Our Lives. There are four Banks although one of them was not known by the last name. Two are dead. The first one that passed away was Penelope Kent.
And she’s the only one who doesn’t have the name. The second of the quads to die is a more recent death. That’s Elvis-loving psychic Susan Banks. Of course, she’s the mom of Elvis Junior DiMera, AKA EJ DiMera.
And she died because of the actions of Ava Vitali who wanted revenge on EJ. So, there are two Banks siblings alive. The first one that you will probably know from recent appearances is the good nun, Sister Mary Moira Banks.

Plus, Eileen Davidson plays all four of them and has since their first appearances back in the 1990s. She’s virtually unrecognizable as she plays the quadruplets with their bad hair, teeth, and strange mannerisms on Days of Our Lives.
Thomas Banks is a Criminal and Hitman on Days of our Lives
The worst of the siblings is Thomas Banks. He’s a gangster and a hitman. And a real creep. In terms of their history, their parents are unknown. What we do know is he has three sisters. Plus, he’s EJ DiMera’s uncle.
And he’s Johnny DiMera’s “Grunkle”, AKA Great Uncle. So, Thomas has only ever been played by Eileen Davidson, despite another actress swapping roles with her when Eileen is busy.
You may recall the Days of Our Lives recasts of the nun and her sister Susan Banks. Most recently, Stacy Haiduk played those roles when Eileen Davidson could not. However, Haiduk has never played the Banks brother.
Is Thomas the Most Bizarre of the Banks Siblings on Days?
Eileen Davidson originated the role of the Banks brother back in 1997 and 1998. And Thomas Banks has this long, kind of creepy combover. His hair’s kinky and just kind of weird. Plus, he has a penchant for big flashy shades.
Maybe he likes the Elvis-looking sunglasses because of Susan Banks’ influence. And Thomas has those crazy Banks teeth like the other three of the quadruplets. His character wrapped a run way back in 1998 on Days of Our Lives.
Back in the initial storylines, Susan’s son EJ was just a baby and got kidnapped. And Susan went to her brother, Thomas Banks, for help. But Sister Mary Moira worried that their brother would cross lines and commit sinful acts.
So, in the end, it was Stefano DiMera and John Black who saved little EJ. And it was lookalike (but no relation) Kristen who’d snatched him. Now, EJ is a fully grown man.
Thomas Banks Returned on Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem Chapter 2
Thomas Banks is still a gangster and violent person. We saw him again after a two-decade gap. He popped up on Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem Part Two. That aired in 2022.
And in those scenes, it’s very interesting because Thomas was up to murderous bad deeds on behalf of Megan Hathaway. On Beyond Salem, we first saw Eileen Davidson dressed as Kristen DiMera.
Of course, Kristen was actually in Statesville prison at the time on the main show. Eileen looked gorgeous as Kristen and flirted up a guy named Phil. She wants to hear about the special prize he won at a poker tournament.

Sparks fly and she wants to head back to the hotel room for some sexy time with him. But Phil is stunned when she strips off and he sees a hairy chest, fake boobs, and a sizable “bulge” in a girdle. Because it’s not Kristen — it was Thomas!
Then, Thomas Banks murders Phil. What’s really funny is that Phil was played by Eileen Davidson’s real-life husband Vince Van Patten. So, he got to play soap actor on the Days of Our Lives spinoff.
Thomas killed Phil and stole the prism he won to deliver it to Megan. It was one of three needed to make a miracle cure most fans suspected would resurrect her dad, Stefano DiMera. But that was wrong…

Thomas Banks Name-Dropped on Days of our Lives
While Hope and Patch grilled Megan, she told him Thomas Banks took Kayla and hauled her away. She also said she has no idea where they are. Then, she talked a lot about being disloyal because he went rogue.
But Hope noticed that Megan seemed very torn up about the idea of gangster/pet assassin Thomas Banks betraying her. And she seemed really hard hit over what Thomas did.
Only, Megan was lying. Every time she said the name Thomas Banks, she was talking about what Bo did to betray her. She said he literally owed her his life. That’s not true – but it is true of Bo.
So, now it’s unclear if Thomas will show up on Days of Our Lives. Now, the ISA’s chasing Thomas, hoping to find Kayla. So, maybe we will get another look at Thomas.
If we do, the big question is, will it be Eileen Davidson back in the role? Because she only came back for Beyond Salem Chapter 2. She’s very busy as Ashley Abbott on Y&R right now.
