How Often Wash Moisturizing Gloves

Why should I wear gloves and socks over a moisturizer?

For generations women have known the effectiveness of wearing gloves and socks over their favorite moisturizer. It helps to keep the moisturizer from evaporating quickly and rubbing off on clothes or bed sheets. Some believe it is the most important step in moisturizing. We believe it helps you get the most out of your moisturizer.

Do I need to wear them overnight to get results?

Certainly not. Wearing the gloves or socks over creams for as little as ½ hour per day can produce a noticeable difference in the appearance and feel of your skin. Since the gloves are made mostly of cotton, they will let your skin breathe and be comfortable for as long as you want to wear them. Wear them for a few minutes while you check your email, read a book before bedtime or while getting dressed (gloves can help prevent your fingernails from making runs in your hoisery).

Will your gloves work with any cream?

Yes. While we’ve formulated our creams with special ingredients, the beauty of our gloves and socks is that they can be used with your favorite lotion, oil or dermatologist-prescribed cream. Caution: Consult physician prior to using with skin conditions such as psoriasis, dermatitus, or eczema. Not for use on open wounds.

What is the difference between your gloves and the plain cotton gloves in the drug stores?

The plain cotton gloves are generally made of a lighter weight fabric causing the creams or lotions to seep through. Also, without spandex, the gloves are not made to stretch. They simply will not fit as well and tend to slip right off. In addition, plain cotton gloves can lose their shape after a single washing. You may have noticed that plain cotton gloves (as well as the cheaper cotton/spandex gloves) are often packaged with cardboard inserts. This makes it appear that they have shape. Our gloves are made of a heavier weight fabric with plenty of shape and stretch.

What is the benefit of having spandex woven into the gloves and socks?

Adding spandex to the fabric weave allows for a snug yet comfortable fit even after multiple washes. Importantly, you’ll have decent finger dexterity while wearing the gloves. This allows you to be productive while moisturizing and you’ll find you can do the following while wearing our gloves:

  • type on a keyboard
  • dial the phone
  • get dressed
  • turn the pages of a book, magazine or newspaper
  • tie you child’s shoe laces
  • open an envelope
  • wear your winter gloves on top of our gloves
  • wear your rubber dish washing gloves on top of our gloves for a warm moisturizing experience
  • play slot machines

What about the “gel” gloves?

We believe our gloves work just as well if not better than the gel gloves. We also believe our gloves have several advantages over the gel gloves.

  • Dexterity: just try doing any of the above activities with gel gloves on. No way. When you’re wearing the gel gloves you can basically count on being unproductive.
  • Breath-ability: we’ve found that the gel gloves don’t let the skin breathe, causing the hands to sweat. Gel gloves contain about 11% polyester plus elastic and some manufacturers’ instructions even suggest removing the gloves “to allow the skin to breathe.”
  • Care/Washing: Gel gloves require hand washing. To wash our gloves just throw them in with your regular wash and line dry.
  • Limited use: Even though gel gloves are reusable they have a limited number of times they can be used effectively (typically 40 uses). Our gloves are designed to last years.

The main argument for gel gloves has been that the user doesn’t have to put on lotion before every use since it’s already inside the gloves. To get that same feature with our gloves simply don’t wash our gloves between uses. That is, let the lotion build up inside the gloves until you get the desired saturation. You’ll still have better finger dexterity than with the gel gloves plus the other advantages. You’ll also save a few dollars.

How long will my Moisture Gloves®/Moisture Socks® last?

We guarantee our products to be free of defects. Depending on frequency of use and care, our gloves and socks should last you many months and often will last many years. Although your results may vary, we’ve had many customers tell us they’ve had our gloves last for many years.

Why do you manufacture all your products in the USA?

Early on Moisture Jamzz, Inc. made a decision to keep all manufacturing in the USA. By manufacturing domestically we can keep better control on quality of our products and the working conditions of our employees. Our customers can also take comfort in the fact that their gloves and socks were sewn by the hands of skilled American workers, under good conditions, unlike much of the overseas labor.
