What Batteries Are Compatible With Hart Tools

It’s impossible to miss HART in the Home Improvement section of your local Walmart and there are plenty of tempting cordless tools to choose from. What batteries are compatible with HART tools, though? We’ll walk you through what you need to know before you decide to pull the trigger.

What Batteries Are Compatible with HART Power Tools?

Starting with HART’s DIY-focused power tools, the entire lineup runs on HART 20V batteries. From the cordless trim router to the brushless hammer drill, circular saw, and a whole lot more, any HART 20V battery works. There are even some cordless vacuum cleaners that work with the 20V batteries.

Even if your tool came with a 20V, 4.0Ah battery, you can use other sizes, such as a 2.0Ah or 5.0Ah pack. As long as the voltage matches up and it’s a HART battery, you’re good to go.

What Batteries Are Compatible with HART Lawn Care Tools?

HART lawn care products are both the 20V and 40V systems, so you need to pay attention. The 20V batteries won’t work in the 40V products and vice versa. The nice thing about the 20V lawn care line is that it uses the same battery as the cordless power tools, so you can have a handful of batteries that run dozens of tools around your home.

The 40V batteries power HART’s high-performance products, including the SuperCharge lineup. If you have more lawn to care for, it’s the way to go. In our opinion, it’s no big deal to have your lawn care tools on one battery system and your power tools on the other. HART gives you that option while keeping you shopping conveniently at Walmart.

Like the 20V system, HART’s 40V products can use any HART 40V battery. Just remember that power-hungry lawn mowers won’t run very long on using a low-capacity battery.

What About Third-Party Batteries and Adapters?

We’ve seen some HART batteries available on Amazon, but there aren’t any authorized sellers there. Amazon is notorious for allowing knock-off batteries on its website and sometimes it’s hard to tell if you’re getting a genuine battery or a knock-off. Our advice is to play it safe and stick with purchasing from Walmart. In general, HART is one of the most budget-friendly brands that still offers good quality, so you’re not dropping as much as you for Milwaukee or DeWalt batteries.

We haven’t seen any battery adapters that let you use other brands of batteries with your HART tools, it’s only a matter of time. However, those aren’t authorized or made by HART, so you’re on your own if you decide to try it. We recommend you don’t use adapters with any of your cordless tools.
