When Is The Next Episode Of Wolf Pack

Wolf Pack spoilers below.

Wolf Pack season one saw the iconic vampire slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar (aka Buffy) transform from Sunnydale monster hunter to brooding werewolf Kristin Ramsey.

Her true identity was revealed in the penultimate episode, putting to bed any notions that Ramsey is actually a retired Buffy.

“Wouldn’t it be funny if you just found out, [Wolf Pack] season two is just Buffy?” joked Gellar in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy. But after that tense finale, there’s no room left for jest.

We want to know exactly when we can pick up with our favourite Californian resident werewolves. So, will Wolf Pack be getting a second season? Let’s dive in and find out.

Wolf Pack season 2 potential release date: When’s it on?

Unfortunately, it’s not great news, as after a long wait for news on the future of the show, it has been reported by Deadline that Wolf Pack has sadly been cancelled by Paramount+ after just one season.

The report says that while the streamer was in fact keen to renew the show for a second outing, the production was delayed by last year’s Hollywood strikes. A new season wouldn’t have been ready before 2025, meaning that it would be over two years since the first season landed on the platform by this point.

The cost of marketing a new season of Wolf Pack would have therefore been high, leading Paramount to make the tough decision to cancel the show.

It’s been a long wait to find out the show’s fate, and last year Wolf Pack (and Teen Wolf) creator Jeff Davis relayed his plans for a second season in an interview with SFX.

The father of wolves (as we must now dub him given his penchant for feeding werewolf addiction) said: “As you are doing the first season and setting up all these threads, you always start thinking a little further down the line… but nothing too concrete, yet.

“If enough subscribers sign up, if enough people watch, then we will get serious about it.”

While Paramount is yet to confirm this report, the show’s stars – both in front of and behind the camera – have responded to the news, meaning it is very likely to be true.

This includes Edo van Belkom, the author of the novels that Wolf Pack was based on, who shared his disappointment about the show’s cancellation on social media.

He wrote: “After just about a full year of uncertainty, the hammer finally fell today in Hollywood and news came out that Wolf Pack has been officially cancelled.

“Disappointing, of course, especially since all signs pointed to there being a season two. But, while the show was a success, the WGA strike followed by the SAG strike did the series no favours.”

“I’m sad myself,” he continued. “Season two was going to see me have a cameo and another set visit, but I was just having fun and playing in Hollywood for a bit. I feel more for the young actors who felt this was going to be their big break.”

Van Belkom also shared a sweet message that the show’s creator Jeff Davis sent to him, informing the author that the show had been axed.

He wrote: “I’m so sorry Edo. They called me today and cancelled the show. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and adapt your words for the screen. I wish they had given the show another chance.

“The business is changing they said and can’t compete with Netflix especially in this genre. I hope you know how amazing it was to have you on set and that you felt pride in seeing your ideas come to life on screen.”

Wolf Pack season 2 cast: Who will be coming back?

There is no doubt that Sarah Michelle Gellar would have returned as Kristin for season two. She was heavily involved in Wolf Pack, as alongside this role, Gellar was also the executive producer for the show.

In the same interview with Digital Spy, Gellar revealed: “The script was already written when I came, but I said to Jeff Davis, who’s our incredible creator and showrunner, and I said, you know, you have to understand that for me being an executive producer, it’s not a vanity title.

“I’m going to have opinions, I’m going to have critiques. And you have to be willing to hear them.”

It’s bittersweet now, but in March last year, Gellar told The Hollywood Reporter that the team had already begun working on the next instalment.

“We’re already starting to write [season two]. I think we would delve a lot more into Kristin and how she got here and what took so long and where she’s been. I think you’ll definitely have more of that. And I think now, she’s going to have to figure out who the voice on the phone is.”

Had the show been renewed, we would have also seen the return of the main cast – or pack, if you like.

In the first season, Armani Jackson stars as newly-bitten werewolf Everett Lang, alongside co-stars Bella Shepard as as Blake Navarro, Tyler Lawrence Gray as Harlan Briggs and Chloe Rose Robertson as Luna Briggs.

They would likely have been joined by the Briggs twins’ adopted father Garrett (Rodrigo Santoro), who had an intense cliffhanger moment at the end of the series, plus Chase Liefiel was sure to return as Baron.

Also in the cast was Bailey Stender, who wouldn’t have been involved in a new season, as her character Phoebe Caldwell died during season one, a loss we’re still reeling from.

Some of the cast have shared messages on X/Twitter, sending love to the show’s fans in the wake of its sad cancellation.

Jackson, who played Everett, said: “Thank you to everyone who watched and supported Wolf Pack. I cherished every moment of playing Everett and I’d do it again anytime. Awoooo!!”

Luna actress Robertson wrote: “To the fans of Wolf Pack – thank you all for your unwavering support & love… it has been a true joy playing Miss Luna Briggs! We hope this show will always have a place in your hearts as it forever will in ours. We’re connected, after all 😉 Love, Chloe. P.S. Bluna forevaaa!”

Meanwhile, Shepard, who played Blake, simply posted: “x’s and o’s to everyone who watched and supported Wolf Pack.”

Wolf Pack season 2 plot: What will happen?

It feels like even more of a shame that Wolf Pack has been cancelled, because season one didn’t exactly tie up all the loose ends. The season ended with the revelation that Kristin is Harlan and Luna’s biological wolf-y mum and that Baron is actually their brother.

This family secret will have undoubtedly changed the dynamic between the characters, and season two would certainly have explored this shift.

While the show was still awaiting recommission, Gellar confirmed that the plan was for season two to delve deep into the mystery behind this reveal, expanding her character in the process.

“I think you’ll understand how she found the kids,” Gellar told The Hollywood Reporter. “I think you’ll definitely learn more. But until you learn about her, you can’t really know what happened to her.”

Something else that would have been explored is whether Garrett would become a wolf to fit into the fold. At the end of the season, we see Kristin explain to Garrett that Harlan can finally have the father he’s always wanted in him, just not with Garrett remaining human.

Baron fixes Garrett with a look, and we can almost taste the subtext. He means to turn him into a wolf.

The fade to black means we don’t know if Baron actually went through with it or not – and it sadly seems that we’ll now never know.

Shepard, meanwhile, has said she would like to see her character Blake explore her inner power, telling Nerds and Beyond: “I think it would be really interesting to really see her flesh out this newfound self-confidence that she has. When we started season one, we saw her in such a vulnerable, low vibrational state.

“Now she’s kind of found the self-confidence where she feels like she can stand up for herself or make her own decisions and she’s powerful enough to really take care of her brother.

“So I feel like it would be really interesting to see Blake, this confident, strong young woman that she’s always really been deep down.”

All of these threads and ideas will unfortunately remain unexplored – but on the bright side, at least we know there is lots more story to tell, should Wolf Pack ever happen to return in the future.

Wolf Pack season 2 trailer: When can I watch it?

Alas, there is no more series, therefore there is no more footage to show.

At present, it looks like that’s it for Wolf Pack, although there’s always a chance it could come back in the future. Bereft fans are already calling for another streaming platform like Netflix to pick it up. If you howl loudly enough, who knows what could happen?

For now, though, all there is to do is rewatch the first season of Wolf Pack, which is available to stream on Paramount+, with those eight episodes still there for you to sink your teeth into.

All episodes of Wolf Pack are available to stream now on Paramount+ in the US and Fridays in the UK.
