The Wideye Potion, sometimes called by its alternative name, the Awakening Potion, is a potion which, when brewed properly, prevents sleep and revives victims of drugging and/or concussion.
It is a fairly complex potion to brew for relatively unskilled/unexperienced witches or wizards, but is simple in its execution.

As with all Potion making, one must remember to first locate and gather all equipment and ingredients necessary for the Potion being made.

For the Wideye Potion, the equipment necessary include a cauldron of the potioners choice-in the case of the first-year assignment, one may use a standard size 2 pewter cauldron-, mortar, pestle, and a wand.
Once the necessary equipment have been gathered one must locate and gather at least 6 Snake Fangs, 4 measures of Standard Ingredient, 6 Billywig Stings, and 2 sprigs of Wolfsbane. The student making the potion may choose to gather extra amounts of each ingredient in case of unforeseen accidents.
Next, the most crucial part of the assignment, the actual brewing of the potion. First, one must place the 6 Snake Fangs into their mortar, followed by 4 measures of Standard Ingredient. Second, the potion maker must add 6 Billywig Stings into their cauldron, before heating the cauldron to a medium temperature for 30 seconds.

After 30 seconds, one must turn the heat off of the cauldron and finely crush the ingredients still in the mortar. After the Snake Fangs and Standard Ingredient have been properly crushed, one must add 4 measures of the crushed ingredients to their cauldron, stir the mixture precisely 3 times in the clockwise direction, wave their wand over the cauldron, and leave the mixture to brew for 95 minutes.
Once the 95 minutes have passed, one must add 2 sprigs of Wolfsbane to the cauldron, stir the mixture 3 more times, in a conter- or anticlockwise direction, and wave their wand over the cauldron once more to complete the Potion.
Upon completion, the student must then extract a sample vial of their completed potion, to be turned in for marks by the teacher, before returning to their workspace and clearing up, replacing all borrowed equipment and/or ingredients to the store cupboard and packing away their things.
