The story is mostly set in California but the production team did most of the shooting in and around Alabama. The film follows youth minister Greg Laurie and he also updated about the filming of the film on his official Instagram.
1. Mobile, Alabama
Mobile is a city and the county seat of Mobile County, Alabama, United States. The filming of the film in Mobile, Alabama took place in Battleship Causeway which is commonly referred to locally as the “Causeway”, a 7-mile long causeway across Mobile Bay from the Bankhead Tunnel on Blakeley Island. Most of the movie was shot here.
This is also the location where other movies have a shoot and used these historic Naval vessels as their hero ships, including the Tommy Lee Jones/Steven Segal action thriller “Under Siege.”
2. Baldwin County, Alabama
Baldwin County is a county in the southwestern part of Alabama. Many scenes of the film ‘Jesus Revolution’ were also shot in Baldwin County and the city of Fairhope served as one of the primary filming locations of the film.

The cast and crew were spotted filming several scenes in Fairhope K-1 Center on South Church Street and also North Beach Park, Fairhope Municipal Pier, and County Road 13 are also other filming locations of the film.
3. Southern California, California
Southern California is the Pacific coastline and a Region in California. The story is based in 1970s California so the cast and crew also filmed several scenes in Southern California particularly the beach scenes that were recorded in the film were shot on Pirates Cove Beach in the city of Newport Beach.
Newport Beach was also utilized for the filming of the film on Balboa Island. According to The Cinemaholic, the cast and crew set up camp in and around Harvest Christian Fellowship at 17600 Gillette Avenue in Orange County’s Irvine and filmed in and around the location.
