There’s a lot to unpack in this latest post, so let’s take a look at what we can expect to see in the Stardew Valley 1.6 update.
- New major festival and two mini-festivals: We’ve known about a brand new festival on the horizon for quite some time, but fans are speculating where and when this could take place. We’d love to see it on Ginger Island, to further expand upon the tropical paradise that NPCs love to vacation to. The two mini-festivals mentioned are also of great interest, and there’s a fair bit of speculation that the Winter season is going to be getting a little more love.
- New skill areas: We’re hoping to see some extension to the levelling system, where players can expand past the original Level 10. If we could level up even further in the likes of mining and combat, we’d rule the Skull Caverns in no time.
- New items and crafting recipes: As well as going into further detail about what we can expect from the Stardew Valley 1.6 update, ConcernedApe also included a number of exciting new images on his X post. We imagine that these new crafting recipes have something to do with the purple-coloured warp totem and purple drink that can be seen. But where would we even be warping to?
- Over 100 new lines of dialogue and potentially a brand new NPC: Along with a new warp totem and meal item, there is also an image of a brand new NPC on ConcernedApe’s post. We have no idea who this is, but we can’t wait to meet them!
Along with these additions, we can expect new Winter outfits for villagers, and a whole new farm type – so be sure to check out our Farm Map tier list to see where it ends up in the ranking – plus many more secrets to uncover.

Developer ConcernedApe himself jumped on Twitter and provided the list of updates that can be expected from the Stardew Valley 1.6 patch. However, the list was not completely explanatory but still offered some basic information regarding additions to the game. He mentioned that Stardew Valley 1.6 will include a “new festival, more dialogues, new items, secret, and ???”

The tweet from ConcernedApe garnered an overwhelming response from the heartwarming Stardew Valley community. The highly anticipated 1.6 update promises to elevate the gameplay experience with the introduction of new dialogue and possibly new residents in the town. Additionally, the mysterious “???” has become a hot topic of discussion among fans, sparking curiosity and speculation.
Whatever the mystery may be, fans are confident that ConcernedApe will continue to provide exceptional content for the community. One thing that is certain about Stardew Valley 1.6 is that it will not surpass the size of the previous update. Stardew Valley 1.5 was released in 2020 and is considered the largest patch update in the game, introducing a multitude of new content.
If you’re expecting 1.6 to be similar in size to 1.5, this may not be the case. The developer himself has revealed that the upcoming 1.6 update will be much smaller in size.
