Where Did Liz Dueweke Go

Liz Dueweke, who’s been in broadcast news in Seattle for 10 years, is the new co-anchor at Channel 14-KFOX News with Robert Holguin.

Dueweke will work alongside Holguin and chief meteorologist Brad Montgomery every weekday at 5 and 9 p.m. beginning Aug. 7.

She was formerly FOX13 Good Morning Seattle’s morning news anchor.

Dueweke thanked her fans in Seattle on her Facebook page. She has also worked in news stations in Oklahoma, Yuma, Arizona, and Flint, Michigan.

“Seattle will always be part of my heart and who I am. However, since the only constant in life is change, I have thrown out my 2 a.m. wake-up call and I am starting a new adventure in Texas. I appreciate all the kind and loving comments. Thank you all for allowing me into your homes over the years as part of your morning routine, and accepting me fully, flaws and all. If you are reading this, I am so grateful for you and my heart is full,” she posted.

In an interview posted on Facebook with Holguin, Dueweke shared she loves creating something new every day at work, and on her off time she enjoys a good bike ride.

Natassia Paloma returns to Channel 9 news

Channel 9-KTSM news evening anchor Natassia Paloma has returned from maternity leave.

Paloma had her second child, a baby girl named Natalia. The baby is 3 months old and has already enjoyed a hike with her family.

KTSM is the NBC affiliate serving El Paso and Las Cruces.

Channel 9 news anchor Estela Casas to join in High Tea

Channel 9 evening anchor Estela Casas will be reading from her autobiography, “A Place to Anchor: Journalism, Cancer, and Rewriting Mi Vida as a Latina on the Border,” at a High Tea, Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Dome Bar in the Paso del Norte hotel Downtown.

The tea will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and guests can enjoy tea service and sandwiches. Tickets for the special event are $40 per person. The hotel will donate 25% of ticket sales to the Stand with Estela Casas Cancer Foundation.

Media darling Estela Casas will be reading from her autobiography at a special High Tea Aug. 19.

Books will be available for purchase. Guests are also welcome to pre-purchase a book on Amazon and bring it for an autograph.

Casas has been on television for almost 40 years and has an inspiring story of battling and beating cancer.

Note: Hotel guests not attending the High Tea are welcome to meet Casas, hear her remarks and have a book signed.
