How Does it Work?
Setting up Apple CarPlay is a painless process. Simply take you Lightning Charging cable that you normally use to recharge you phone and connect the USB end of the cable into the available port. You phone will automatically detect the Honda vehicle’s infotainment system and display a prompt asking you for permission to connect to Apple CarPlay. When this happens, press the “Allow” button.

In turn, your infotainment system will also display a message asking you for permission to access your phone. This will only happen the first time you connect your phone to the system, and you need to select “Always enable” to prevent the message from reappearing.
Now on the infotainment system’s home screen, you’ll notice that the button prompt previously labeled “smartphone” has been replaced by “Apple CarPlay.” As you might surmise, hitting the “Apple CarPlay” button accesses the program, and from there you’re free to navigate the program.
