What Is Prf Under Eyes

Sunken, hollow eyes, begone! PRF under eye treatments are here to save the day.

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) treatments use your body’s own platelets and growth factors to enhance the skin in areas like the under eye region. This relatively natural approach to rejuvenation uses the natural healing mechanisms in your own blood, and it’s often very effective.

Read on to see what PRF injections can do for you!

What PRF Under Eye Injections Can Do

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRF under eye treatments, are a 100% natural way to reduce excess pigmentation, plump up the under eye region, and smooth out crepey skin. Seen as the next level up from PRP treatments, they make use of your body’s own platelets to improve skin tone and texture.

Here’s what happens under the surface after a PRF injection:

  • New blood vessels bring in a fresh supply of nutrients, giving your skin a healthy glow.
  • Toxins, accumulated fluids, and excess pigmentation can all be cleared away.
  • The skin’s metabolism improves. Dead skin cells disappear faster, and unwanted fat cells may burn away to create smoother skin.
  • The collagen and elastin layers are repaired, leading to improved skin elasticity, plumpness, and smoothness.

At Beauty Boost, we use PRF injections under the eyes to help with dark circles, skin texture, tear troughs, and plenty of other concerns about the under eyes. We also use PRF to treat stomach lines and fine lines in other parts of the face.

The PRF Under Eye Treatment Process

Each PRF treatment starts with a consultation. The provider will have a conversation with you to understand your goals and concerns and examine your under eye region so they can create a customized treatment plan.

During your treatment, a technician or medical professional will draw a bit of your blood. They will then run the blood through a centrifuge at a slow speed, concentrating and separating the platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). Once they have the newly separated PRF, they will inject it back into the under eye region.

After the PRF is injected into the dermis layer, it will repair the collagen and elastin. The collagen and elastin will help your skin regain elasticity and plump up, leading to a more youthful appearance. Visible results should start to appear in the weeks following treatment.

PRF under eye treatments typically last six to twelve months, depending on your age and how well your body responds. However, you can always extend your results by scheduling maintenance treatments.

Wait, is PRF the same thing as PRP?

Nope! PRF is a bit like the next level up from PRP. PRF contains a higher concentration and better quality platelets, giving you more rejuvenating growth factors. There are also no anticoagulants or synthetic additives, so the growth factors stay active for longer.

PRF vs. Fillers

PRF is a good option if you prefer a more natural, slow-building approach to aesthetic treatments. They stimulate collagen and jumpstart your body’s natural healing processes. For many of our patients, PRF is a great natural alternative to fillers.

Fillers are a good choice if your main goal is to quickly fill in an area that has lost volume. Neither PRF nor fillers is a better choice — they are simply different approaches. We recommend talking to a provider if you’re not sure which approach is better for your goals.

How Many PRF Under Eye Treatments Do You Need?

PRF can work beautifully under the eyes, although the number of treatments needed varies depending on the patient and their aesthetic goals. Many patients need 3-5 sessions to achieve the results they desire.

Before you start your treatment, we recommend talking with a qualified medical professional who can closely observe your skin condition, ask questions about your goals, and estimate the number of PRF sessions you will need. A consultation will help you set expectations and decide if the treatment plan is right for you.
