Who Makes Bi Mart Batteries

PRINCETON, N.J., Nov. 7, 2002; Exide Technologies, a global leader in stored electrical energy solutions, has a new agreement to expand its product line of automotive starting batteries as supplied to Bi-Mart Corporation.

Exide will begin providing Bi-Mart with its Exide Select Orbital® technology products for automotive starting applications. The batteries will be marketed under the Exide Vortex(TM) brand. The Exide Select Orbital® technology is a highly efficient design of spiral-wound plates that provides unparalleled power among conventional automotive batteries.

Bi-Mart Corporation is a membership organization with 62 stores located throughout the Pacific Northwest. The stores offer a product range of hard goods in photo, housewares, sporting goods, automotive and hardware, along with health & beauty products, toys, clothing/shoes, foods and beer/wine. The chain also has a full service pharmacy.

Exide has been a supplier of automotive, deep cycle, motorcycle and marine batteries to Bi-Mart for more than 30 years.

The Vortex(TM) product line features Exide’s spiral-wound plates combined with absorbed glass mat lead-acid chemistry that result in a leakproof, highly vibration-resistant, virtually indestructible battery offering twice the life of a conventional battery. Its safety features allow it to be located anywhere in the vehicle.

Bi-Mart will market the Vortex batteries for high-energy automotive applications. This will be the first time Bi-Mart has offered the innovative high-energy product to its customers.
