It had seemed like Anna and Valentin were finally set on General Hospital after Victor had been dealt with. They could move on from their traumatic pasts, start building a life in earnest and settle down to romantic bliss. As if.
It didn’t take long for Charlotte to turn on Anna, mysterious forces to target her, her double agent past dredged up, Pikeman, the WSB, Anna accidentally shooting Charlotte… Whatever bliss “Vanna” had found and good will they’d built up is just about gone.

When Finola Hughes talked to First for Women about her Emmy nod, she put the absolute mess of Anna’s life this way: “It’s difficult to sustain that sort of niceness. We are a soap opera and drama does push the story along.”
Well, there’s drama aplenty now. Anna doesn’t trust Valentin. Dante’s not sure he can trust Anna. Just about the only person she is in good with right now is, oddly enough, Sonny. They’ve both been targeted and you know what they say: The enemy of my enemy is my friend! Or maybe, something more?
That’s certainly what some fans are hoping for! (At least the ones who aren’t Team “CarSon” or Team “Sona.”) And while that would have once been unthinkable, now we can’t stop imagining it! After all, things are bound to get rocky for Sonny and Nina once her SEC tattling gets out. And that’s being kind. Once that happens, Sonny could find himself on the market once again — but that doesn’t mean he’s going to go running back to Carly! Why not turn to Anna?
As for Hughes, when First asked her how she’d feel about an Anna and Sonny pairing, she grinned that, “It’s been lovely to work with Maurice,” adding, “I’m down for that.”
