Lily James stars in new Versace Bright Crystal ad campaign
British actress Lily James is starring in an edgy new ad campaign for Versace’s award-winning Bright Crystal. She replaces South African model Candice Swaneopoel who posed for photographer Mario Testino in the 2011 campaign featuring Swaneopoel clutching a bottle of the floral scent while reclining in her bed. This new 2023 ad gives James a stylish makeover with metallic dresses and cat-eyed makeup all set to a thumping club beat soundtrack.

Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson, better known by her stage name Lily James was born in Surrey, England, April 5th, 1989. Having studied at the acclaimed Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, she captured the hearts of British tv viewers in the series Just William in 2010. But it was her role in period drama Downton Abbey (2012 – 2015) that made her a global star. This led to a series of dramatic film roles. Her portrayal of Pamela Anderson in the biographical series Pam & Tommy in 2022 earned her a Golden Globe nomination.
The new Bright Crystal ad campaign follows the style and look of Donatella’s fashion videos and runway shows. With quick split-editing, the director creates a sense of energy and momentum. This is Bright Crystal for a new generation.
