Fortnite’s annual holiday event is back later this week here’s when you’ll be able to start picking up some winter-themed cosmetics.
Fortnite Winterfest 2023 is set to kick off this week and will be bringing back the beloved annual event. Like past Winterfest events, you’ll be able to pick up some fancy Fortnite cosmetics for free in the process. This year’s event gives you two skins – Winterfest Bushranger and Holiday Boxy – as well as a selection of Back Blings and Gliders. One big deviation from the usual fare is that Winterfest 2023 won’t be bringing back the cosy Winter Cabin, but the new event is also set to bring a brand new POI to the Fortnite Battle Royale map.

The slew of content rolling out for Fortnite Winterfest 2023 will be our lot for the next few weeks in terms of new update, as Epic Games is heading on its company-wide winter holiday break. Epic also takes a break over the summer (usually in July) so it’s a similar situation to earlier this year with Fortnite Summer Escape during Chapter 4 Season 3. Basically, don’t expect new content to be constantly drip-fed into the game during Fortnite Winterfest 2023.
It’s unknown if Fortnite Winterfest 2023 will affect the three new modes introduced with Chapter 5 Season 1 – Fortnite Festival, Rocket Racing, and Lego Fortnite. The obvious spin would be that we could see some Christmas classics make their way into the rhythm-based festival mode, or we could get a sleigh in the Rocket Racing mode. We’ll know for sure when the Fortnite Winterfest 2023 start time rolls around, but when is that?

Fortnite Winterfest 2023 start time is set for Thursday, 14 December at 2pm GMT / 9am EST / 6am PST. While this time hasn’t been confirmed by Epic explicitly, prominent Fortnite leaker @ShiinaBR has said in a Twitter post that Fortnite Winterfest will start at this time, and they are barely ever wrong.
With both the Lego Fortnite release time and the Fortnite Festival release time being at 12pm GMT drop, the Fortnite Winterest start time is likely to be two hours later. However, if Epic decides to officially announce the Fortnite Winterfest 2023 start time we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we hear anything.
Fortnite Winterfest 2023 will run from this week up until early January – which is when Epic’s company-wide winter holiday comes to an end. So we can expect Fortnite Winterfest 2023 to end around January 4, 2024. You’ll have plenty of time to play in the snow and unlock all of the Fortnite Winterfest 2023 cosmetic items before then.
