Today (April 26), Camp Fimfo announces the July 1 launch of its camp-resort in New Braunfels, Texas, according to a press release.
Located an hour outside of San Antonio and Austin, Camp Fimfo is a brand-new camping experience that brings the comforts of indoor accommodations to the great outdoors and allows campers to customize their outdoor experience with a variety of attractions and accommodations, from A-frame cabins to RV and tent sites. “We wanted to create a space where families, couples, and friends could all come to have a unique experience that caters to their outdoor vacation ideal,” said Megan Wierenga, marketing manager of Northgate Resorts, the company that created the Camp Fimfo brand. “At Camp Fimfo, kids can spend the day splashing around at the water park, while parents can hang in the pool by the swim-up bar and have an equally fun time. The camp truly has something for everyone, plus a little more, with hidden surprises and local nuances adding an extra layer of excitement to the Camp Fimfo experience.”
Camp Fimfo combines family fun with Millennial-aged allure. While kids revel in the interactive playground, take on the four waterslides, and take part in the scheduled activities and workshops, parents and bigger kids can enjoy the water park from a private cabana with comfortable seating, a mini-fridge, and a fan for extra comfort. Heiser Hollow is where everyone can come together to play yard games, grab a bite at the food and coffee truck, or access the river. Even more alluring is the mysterious creature known as Squirrely, who leaves hidden messages throughout the property. Guests are encouraged to bring binoculars and keep an eye out for a potential sighting.
When it comes to lodging, Camp Fimfo is equipped with 200 full hook-up RV sites – and more scheduled to open throughout the summer season – all of which include concrete pads, and tent sites will be equipped with potable water and 20 AMP electrical hook-ups. The property offers three riverfront A-frame cabins, three large-sized cabins that can sleep up to 10 people, and 25 mid-sized cabins that can sleep 6-8 people. The interior design of the resort purposefully reflects the Camp Fimfo spirit while also demonstrating the high-quality standard that can be expected at each location, from the mid-century modern furniture and camp memorabilia in each cabin to the Squirrely inspired tavern, according to the release.

New Braunfels, Texas, is home to the annual Wurstfest and countless concerts at the Whitewater Amphitheatre, next door to Camp Fimfo. The local charm of New Braunfels is infused stylistically throughout the property, through seasonal events, and through the culinary scene. The Filling Station and Squirrely’s Tavern are two spots for guests to refuel, enjoy New Braunfels-inspired dishes, in-house made ice cream or sample specialty cocktails at Squirrely’s Tavern.
