Neuwirth is a multi-talented American who rose to fame as an actress, singer, and dancer. She was born Beatrice J. Neuwirth in Newark, New Jersey on December 31, 1958 to Lee Paul Neuwirth and Sydney Anne Neuwirth.

Her love for the creative arts was sparked by her mother who was an amateur dancer and painter. She once danced for the Princeton Regional Ballet Company when her father was a mathematician. Of Russian-American descent from her mother’s family and German-American from her father, Bebe was raised with a brother who followed in their father’s footsteps by becoming a mathematician.
Bebe Neuwirth started taking ballet lessons at the age of 5. A year before, she had The Nutcracker with her mother, and it was also something that he encouraged her to start dancing. Until she was 15, her dream in life was to become a ballerina. However, she later decided to become a Broadway musical dancer.

From 1986 to 1993, she played the role of Lilith Sternin-Crane in the television series Cheers. When the CBS political television series began in September 2014, one of the main characters was Bebe Neuwirth, who played the role of Chief of Staff. Three years and four seasons later, Neuwirth announced on her Twitter that she was leaving the show.
One of the show’s most beloved characters, she made it clear in her tweet that she asked to leave the show. In the three tweets she made, Bebe appreciated her time on the show with all the other cast members, crew and background artists, before thanking CBS for agreeing. her request to leave the show, then to finally thank everyone who supported her.. That said, it’s clear she left the show on good terms with everyone involved, including CBS.
On the show itself, Nadine Tolliver quit because she felt the public service she loved had become vicious and she didn’t want to spend her career fighting. Her last episode of resigning as Chief of Staff aired on October 22, 2017. The reason given was that, in addition to not wanting to continue fighting, she also wanted to be close to her son and her grandson.
In real life, however, the reason for her leaving is still unknown as she hasn’t said anything about it.
Shortly after her departure from the drama, CBS invited her to participate in another series of its web series, The Good Fight in 2018. She appeared in the series episode 443 of the series as judge Claudia Friend.
