When Is The Vigo County Fair 2023

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As the start of the Vigo County Fair gets ever closer, officials have begun to announce some of the entertainment options coming to the grandstands and other areas of the fairgrounds.

Fans of the rides can get a taste of all the fair has to offer with a special 1-hour free unlimited rides period between noon and 1 p.m. on Sunday. A brand new event will also take place in a Baby and Toddler Contest.

Returning to this year’s festivities are classic favorite events like the police vs fire demolition derby, professional truck and tractor pulls, and Friday night the stars of the Micro Wrestling Federation will hit the ring for a night of professional wrestling.

Folks looking for a thrill will have plenty of carnival rides to choose from with two ways to enjoy, riders can either purchase individual coupons that can then be combined to get on a ride once or purchase full-day unlimited ride passes.

Individual coupons will be sold for $1.25 each, however, a promotional flyer notes that every ride at the fair WILL require more than one coupon. Coupons can also be purchased in value bundles as follows;

  • 120 Coupons for $100
  • 55 Coupons for $50
  • 21 Coupons for $20

Saturday, July 8:

Horsepower in the Haute Featuring the Pro Pulling League

  • Gates open at 5 p.m., event starts at 7 p.m.
  • Tickets cost $15 for GA, $25 for Pit Gate
    • Classes:
      • Limited Pro Diesel Trucks
      • Super Farm Tractors
      • 4×4 Pro Stock Trucks
      • Hot Farm Tractors

Sunday, July 9:

Full Throttle Monster Trucks

  • Start time is 7 p.m.
    • Will feature Monkey Business, Hoosier Daddy, Funky Monkey, Relentless, and the world famous Bigfoot.
  • free to all ages
  • Monster truck rides cost $10

Chalk It Up! Sidewalk Chalk Art Competition

  • Held at the Exhibit Hall
  • $25 entry fee
    • Includes Chalk, Drink coupon & Goodie bag
    • Proceeds benefit Vigo County 4-H
  • Registration at 10 a.m.
  • Artist’s work time from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Judging at 5:30 p.m.

    • Will chalk a 5×5 area

    • 0-12 months old

  • Entry fee of $5
  • Winners recieve prizes “to enjoy all week long”
  • Contestants do NOT need to be a Vigo County resident to participate.
  • Babies and toddlers should be dressed in their favorite summer/fair outfit.
