In order to say “where you live” you would have to say:

  • I live in [country/city] = (Yo) vivo en [país/ciudad]

Vivo en el Reino Unido.

I live in the United Kingdom.

Yo vivo en los Países Bajos.

I live in the Netherlands.

Vivo en Chicago.

I live in Chicago.

Yo vivo en Berlín.

I live in Berlin.

As you can see it’s very simple.

All you have to do is say “Vivo en” and add your country or city after it.

Please note that you don’t have to say “yo” (I) in Spanish.

It’s fine to omit it.

If you want to ask where someone else lives, then you can say one of the following things:

¿Dónde vives?

Where do you live? [informal]

¿Dónde vive?

Where do you live? [formal]

Vives is in the informal tú form, and vive is in the formal usted form.
