There are eight new teams competing to be the winners of LEGO® Masters in 2022.

But as these new faces build and create to take out the jackpotted — thanks to Hamish Blake — prize money of $100,050, you might be wondering about where the other winners are.

Here’s a look back at the previous winners of LEGO Masters and what they’ve been up to since lifting that LEGO trophy above their heads at the Grand Finale.

Season 3 — David & Gus

The most recent winners of LEGO Masters are David and Gus, a project manager and engineer. They were awarded the win after their build The Forest impressed judge Brickman and 250 members of the public in the Grand Finale.

David and Gus walked away with $100,000 in prize money. Gus planned to spend his on new furniture for his home, while David said he would put his share towards paying off his house.

Although they were both eyeing off one thing with the prize money – more LEGO.

“I’m a responsible adult,” David joked in an interview with 9Entertainment. “So the first thing that you think about is maybe putting it on the mortgage, but at the same time I want to buy a few toys, oh yeah definitely some LEGO. I have my eye on a few sets that are coming out, so definitely I’m going to use it for some LEGO and maybe a camera, to start taking more photos of the LEGO, of course.”

The pair have remained close since their time on LEGO Masters and plan to do more builds together.

Season 2 — Jackson & Alex

High school friends Jackson and Alex won LEGO Masters in 2020 and used their $100,000 prize money on some very responsible things.

Jackson put his towards a house he and his partner bought before the show aired, while Alex intended to put his half towards a house deposit too.

Since winning their season Jackson and Alex have been working with not-for-profit organisation FORM in Western Australia on various projects. Their biggest so far has been an immersive exhibition called Relics: Bricks of the New World, which ran as part of The Goods Shed in WA as part of the Scribblers Festival in 2021.

Recently, Jackson has returned to art, with several new large scale pieces on the outside of buildings in Perth. Meanwhile, Alex got inked with a LEGO tattoo, a very permanent tribute to their win on the show.

Season 1 — Henry & Cade

Taking out the win in the first-ever season of LEGO Masters Australia were Henry and Cade, who were actually strangers when they partnered up for the show.

Since their time on the show they’ve become well known in LEGO circles and have also had some exciting personal life updates too.

“Straight after the show we were both quite involved in the LEGO community,” Henry told 9Entertainment. “We were attending a lot of local LEGO shows and things like that. We also got the opportunity to be part of the LEGO certified store campaigns, where we opened up all the stores on the east coast, all the new stores in 2019. That was really fun.”

Cade and his wife also welcomed their second child, a son named Theodore, who is a little brother for their first-born Duke.

Meanwhile, Henry recently returned for the LEGO Masters Bricksmas special where he was teamed up with Sophie Monk.
