The first episode of a new adaptation of Anne Rice’s classic horror novel Interview With The Vampire will air tonight at 9pm on BBC One.

The BBC’s adaption of the show comes after a version by AMC aired in the US in 2022, proving to be a popular hit with viewers.

Where was Interview With The Vampire filmed?

For the AMC version of Interview With The Vampire, production designer Mara LePere-Schloop recreated Storyville district by building building facades for the show’s Iberville and Liberty streets at The Ranch Studios in New Orleans.

The show was also shot at a number of different New Orleans landmarks, including Gallier House, which Anne Rice used as the model for Lestat’s townhouse.

Beuaregard-Keys House, located in the city’s French Quarter, was also used for the interior of Fair Play Saloon.

Who is in Interview With The Vampire?

Jacob Anderson (Game Of Thrones, The Mimic) plays the part of Louis de Point du Lac, a former citizen of New Orleans who has been undead since 1910, has chosen to settle.

Meanwhile, Eric Bogosian (Talk Radio, Uncut Gems) assumes the role of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Daniel Molloy, who goes to meet Anderson’s character after receiving a summons from him by mail, despite the fact that their first interview, 49 years previously, ended badly.

Sam Reid (Belle, ’71) is Lestat de Lioncourt, a thoughtful French vampire who becomes obsessed with Molloy.

Bailey Bass (Avatar: The Way Of Water) plays Claudia, a rebellious teenager turned into a dangerous and fearful vampire by Louis and Lestat.

How many episodes are in the show?

Already a hit in the US thanks to its performances, filming has begun for a second series in Paris – with scenes actually being shot in Prague – and is expected to be released at some point in 2024.

While the first five episodes of the show will air on BBC One up to Thursday, October 26, the entire series is available to watch in full on BBC iPlayer.
