Melissa Peterman – Bio, Age

Peterman was born in Edina, Minnesota on July 1, 1971 as Melissa Margaret Peterman. Her parents, early childhood and family history are scarcely available. But we do know that she graduated with a degree in theater from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and started her acting career in one of the main roles Marriage of Tony n Tina (one of the productions of Hey City Theatre).

After appearing in over six hundred performances, Melissa has written and performed at the Brave New Workshop (Minneapolis improv comedy theater), which boasts alumni among characters from Al Franken, Pat Proft, Cedric Yarbrough, Louie Anderson and Mo Collins. She also performed at the Big Stink Comedy Festival in Austin, Texas, as well as the Chicago Improv Festival during her debut.

In 1996, Melissa Peterman made her film debut in the Coen Brothers award-winning black comedy film Fargo. Between 2001 and 2006, she played Barbra Jean Booker-Hart in the sitcom Reba alongside television veteran Christopher Rich and country music icon Reba McEntire.

During this period, she also starred in the movie Recipe for Disaster alongside John Larroquette and Lesley Ann Warren. Margaret also starred in an unreleased independent film called Baking and made guest appearances in a 2001 stoner film How High which stared Redman and Method Man.

She also began hosting a women’s comedy show at the tilted Egyptian Theater 15 Minutes de fem, and also appeared on Running with Scissors – a comedy show airing on the American cable network Oxygen. Melissa Peterman has also starred in several sitcoms, including Ned’s Downgraded Survival Guide, Shoot Me! and The Pitts. Her other sitcom credits include American Dad!, Living With Abandonment, Rita Rocks, Suburban Survivor, Dusty Peacock, Working Class, Baby Daddy, among many others.

In addition to acting, Melissa soon began hosting shows, which included television comedy shows; some of these shows include Do you want to bet? Sound of Sing-a-Long music. Commercial Spaces, Comedy Stadium, Redneck Dreams, Bet On Your Baby, The Singing Bee, Dancing Fools etc. . In 2010, she hosted the red carpet event for the CMT Music Awards.

Melissa has at other times been involved in some charitable works; She partners with a non-profit organization called The Unusual Suspects Theater Company, which helps at-risk youth in the Los Angeles area.
