City Council

Hudson City Council consists of seven members: Four members are elected by ward, and three elected at-large. The president of City Council is elected by its members.

Voting Information

Taxes

Income tax is paid through the Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA). Property taxes are collected by Summit County. Sales tax is collected by the State of Ohio.

City Services

Planning and Zoning

The Department of Community Development can assist citizens with developing property, altering the exterior appearance of a house or building, erecting a sign or constructing an accessory structure in a yard. For each of these activities, one must apply to the City of Hudson for a zoning certificate before applying for a building permit from the Summit County Division of Building Standards.

Public Safety

Trash and Recycling

Trash collection is provided by independent companies that are approved by the City. The Community

Barlow Community Center

Barlow Community Center, located at 41 S. Oviatt St., offers a variety of rooms and a full auditorium with stage for rent to Hudson residents. Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club

Ellsworth Meadows is a beautifully manicured 18-hole course that was named one of the top 12 golf courses in Northeast Ohio by Crain’s Cleveland Business and ranked in GolfStyles Magazine’s list of 100 best courses in Ohio. Parks

There are currently 20 Hudson Parks. Some of the activities and amenities available at Hudson Parks are fishing, boating, bocce, sand volleyball, disc golf, ball fields, soccer fields, a community garden, a skate park, playgrounds, hiking trails, grills, picnic tables and pavilions.
