Unfortunately, on October 6, 2020, his son Wolfgang Van Halen revealed that his beloved father passed away with a statement he posted on social media platforms. Although he had been battling cancer for a long time, Eddie’s condition got worse within the last 72 hours since his cancer had moved to his brain and other organs according to the statement of his doctors.

Since the passing of the iconic guitarist, his family and fellow musicians have been mourning by sharing their favorite memories of Eddie and paying him tribute by covering Van Halen songs.
