What Time Does Santa Leave The North Pole

Twinkle, thank you for taking our call on the busiest day of the year. What is the atmosphere like today in the North Pole?

It is electric! We are all very excited, there are celebrations in the Elf Village, Workshop and the big Food Hall. We love Christmas Eve. Santa and the reindeer are all getting ready to go.

We can hear a lot of noise in the background, whoops of joy and loud, harmonious singing.

What is everybody working on at the moment Twinkle, is there much more to do?

Right now Santa is in his office with Mrs Claus checking the list for the second and final time. He just needs to note where each child is, but he is certain he will reach every single one, no matter where they are staying or living. This means all the children in Ireland have been very kind to one another and family this year!

The elves are packing the sleigh: All of the toys have been finished, so they are setting up the sack and getting ready to use lots of magic. The sleigh has lots of magic in it too, to keep it going all day and night to travel to every single country.

The reindeer have had the appropriate doses of flying dust so they are, quite literally, walking on air with excitement. Rudolph and Prancer had colds during the week so Rudolph’s nose wasn’t shining as bright and Prancer’s nose was too red with all the nose blowing. Thankfully, they are both much better.

When they blew their noses, they would get blown rapidly into the sky because of the magic flying dust, it was very hard to keep them on the ground and they were wasting a lot of their flying dust! We’ve topped them up and they are in great humour to get going again.

I am working hard making sure everybody is happy! We have a few stressed elves, so we are making sure to rotate the jobs so everyone can have time out doing the fun job of sitting and talking to the reindeer between sleigh packing.

What time does Santa leave the North Pole Twinkle?

Time? What is time?

Yes, time? The time on a clock, what time does he leave?

Oh, human time! Hmm, we don’t notice time so I am not too sure. We get a jingling feeling and lots of bells ring when it’s time to go. Up until that moment, we have an excited feeling that gets stronger until we are ready for Santa to go. We do know that it is always dark when Santa arrives in each country as it is well managed by the travel elves. They know the world better than anyone!

We can hear lots of commotion in the background and Twinkle tells us the jingling feeling is happening. Lots of bells are chiming. Twinkle begins to sing and we can hear huge excitement in her voice.

Last question before you go, what do the elves and Santa do on Christmas day?

We have the best day ever! We sleep for a lot of it, but when we all wake up, we make a huge dinner with a lot of food and eat it all while singing and dancing. It typically ends with a food fight.

Thank you so much for your time Twinkle, we have loved your updates and can’t wait to talk to you again next year. Happy new year to Santa and all the elves!

Thank you to everymum and all parents and children in Ireland, make sure you all go to bed on time tonight xx
