Who is Fitz in Mushoku Tensei?
Fitz serves as Princess Ariel Anemoi Asura’s personal bodyguard. After the demise of Derrick Redbat, who sacrificed himself to protect the princess from a Terminate Boar attack, Fitz joined Ariel’s personal bodyguard squad.
In Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 0, aptly titled “Guardian Fitz,” we catch our first glimpse of Fitz. With a mysterious demeanor, he rarely utters a word, adorned in black glasses, and unwaveringly loyal to Princess Ariel.

Yes, Fitz and Sylphy are indeed the same person in the Mushoku Tensei anime. The opening scene of the second season’s Episode 0 unveils a captivating spectacle—a girl descending from the sky. And that girl is none other than Sylphy.
Following a catastrophic teleportation incident, Sylphy found herself hurtling through the air and eventually landing high above the Silver Palace. Desperately trying to control her descent using magic, she couldn’t prevent a hard impact that left her with fractured legs and painful bruises.
Not one to be deterred, Sylphy swiftly eliminated a Terminate Boar that posed a threat to Ariel before she crashed to the ground. Unconscious and injured, she was soon discovered and taken in by Ariel and Luke.
Upon regaining consciousness, Sylphy found herself in what appeared to be Ariel’s bedroom within the royal palace. She revealed her origins, hailing from the destroyed Fittoa Region’s Buena Village. Sylphy expressed fears about finding her family and friends, believing it to be a daunting task.
Ariel proposed a solution—Sylphy could become one of her mage bodyguards. With a new identity and name, Sylphy transformed into Fitz, a young boy entrusted with the protection of Princess Ariel, alongside Luke.
Who Is Aware of Fitz’s True Identity?

Maintaining secrecy regarding Sylphy’s true identity is vital within the Asura Kingdom. Sylphy’s unexpected arrival in the kingdom is considered trespassing, a grave offense.
Ariel promised Fitz that she would ensure her true identity remains hidden from the world. It seems Luke is also aware of Fitz’s true identity. Additionally, Rudeus Greyrat, Sylphy’s childhood friend whom she reunites with at the Ranoa Magic Academy, discovers the truth. During Rudeus’ time at the academy, he and Fitz engaged in a playful cat-and-mouse dynamic. Eventually, Rudeus realizes Fitz’s true identity, leading to an emotional confrontation where they both express their feelings for one another.
