With blue hair that grows in all directions at the front and points backward uniformly, Puck has a feminine facial structure, characterized by large eyes and a soft jawline. He often carries a burdock, his closest thing to a weapon.

In comedic moments, Puck displays exaggerated “chibi” comic features. Later in the manga and anime, Puck is drawn in his standard “chestnut” chibi form, with stubby limbs and a short, round body. Puck can also be quite stubborn, as demonstrated when he refuses to return Guts’ Behelit while aboard the Sea Horse, using it as bait to catch fish instead. This trait of Puck’s adds comedic value to the story. Additionally, Puck develops a possessive attachment to the Behelit, even giving it the nickname “Betchi” and claiming that it likes cheese.

When receiving compliments, Puck and his close friend Isidro often exaggerate their own combat abilities. However, their friendship remains strong, with Puck seeing himself as a mentor to Isidro. Puck tries to teach Isidro his “Elf Dimension Style,” but with little success.

On the other hand, Puck and his fellow elf Ivalera often clash. Ivalera is more serious and less bubbly than Puck, leading to a rivalry between them. Despite their differences, Puck tries to show Ivalera their similarities, but she still looks down on him.

Although Puck’s role in the story is often that of comic relief, he can also be serious when the situation demands it. He easily befriends innocent individuals like Jill and listens to their tragic histories with empathy. When Puck meets Guts in the Black Swordsman Arc, Guts is mistrusting, callous, and contemptuous. Puck frequently opposes Guts’ cruel behavior towards others. In the Lost Children Chapter, Puck severely criticizes Guts for attacking Rosine, making Guts question if he held back against her. Over time, as Guts regains trust and shows compassion for others, Puck becomes less of a chider and more of a source of comic relief, guiding Guts back to his humanity.

Originally from the elven kingdom of Elfhelm, Puck’s journey began when he picked a fight with a seagull over fish and ended up riding it to return home. However, he accidentally fell off while asleep and got stranded on the mainland. Puck eventually joined a troupe of performers and encountered Guts after he left the Band of the Hawk. A year later, Puck befriended Rickert while traveling with the troupe to the Midland border. After Rickert’s departure, Puck visited a fortune teller who saw an omen in her crystal ball: an armored figure followed by two unconscious people after a solar eclipse. Later, the troupe was slaughtered, and Puck found himself in the village of Koka, held captive by the Snake Baron’s Bandits who used him for target practice.

In conclusion, Puck in Berserk is a complex character who brings both lightness and seriousness to the story. His patience, stubbornness, and ability to find the good in others make him a unique and interesting companion to Guts and the other characters in the Berserk universe.
