She said, “There could be a sequel at some point if everyone is game to get the gang back together. It could be really fun a few years from now to pick it up and see what those crazy Dunnes are up to a few years down the road and if they got on – not well, I don’t think.”

Unfortunately, director David Fincher has stated in a 2021 interview that there won’t be a Gone Girl sequel. He believes that the narrative has reached its conclusion and sees no reason to continue the story. However, Rosamund Pike, who played Amy Dunne in the film, expressed her interest in returning for a sequel, as she believes Amy’s character has a lot of potential.
